A great example on the BBC 10 O'clock news last night from Sophie Rayworth:

"The England cricket team made history on Sunday by winning the World Cup for the first time.

Everything any of us does "makes history". History is everything that happened in the past.

I've even heard gushing sports pundits say that someone or some team is "aiming to re-write history". Not possible unless they own a time machine.

A few dictators have tried. Didn't Lenin and Stalin carefully Tippex out ( or whatever they used then) images in photos of former Politburo members who had disappeared overnight to pretend they never existed?

Most are fairly unobtrusive but Daily Express is probably the worst as you have to approve all of it's media partners too.

I have anti spyware installed on my PC which deletes all tracking cookies meaning that I have to go through the cookie palaver every time Daily Express carries a Palace story
