Really???? The league table at this stage of the season doesn’t lie and they are only out of the bottom three on goal difference plus the vast majority of their playing staff will upsticks and leave if they are relegated so will not be too bothered whether West Ham stay up or not that’s what happens when you chase the money! We may not have been in for Bowen for all we know. A fit tosun and Townsend will more than compensate for not signing Bowen.

This time two years ago we were gazumped by West Ham for a championship forward. There were no shortage of folk on here berating Palace for being cheap, not going the extra mile etc and so on.

Jordan Hugill went on to play all of 22 minutes for the hammers that season. Since then, and no matter how desperate they get, they won't even give this lad a place in the squad. He must be an awfully long way short of the required standard.

Luckily, Palace having assessed the extent of the gamble involved in that transfer, didn't get bullied into going above what they were prepared to risk for the player. Nor should they with Bowen, or anybody else.

Jordan Hugill was bloody poor in the Championship and cost like 12-15 million.. Bowen is a winger and has more goals scored than Hugill who was a center forward.

It's really not the same thing. Bowen deserves his money.

In your opinion. You may be right, you might not be.

The point is more that Palace have to attribute a value to any transfer target, and that value will not be the same as the one put upon him by another club.

None of which should take away from the simple fact that nobody knows if we fell short of, matched, or even exceeded West Hams offer.

Would you put your house on that ? have you watched them play. They are all over the shop and their fans are pure poison. A few more bad results and they are right in the mix.
