The forward line were excellent today. However the defence were very poor and if Cardiff had taken their chances it could have been a different story. I’m afraid Kelly and Ward are only championship players and should never have been offered extended contracts. Another example of poor management by SP/RH although the financial position of the club to buy replacements doesn’t appear great.

Both had solid games. Guaita could of done better with the 1st goal by not racing out and Kelly made up for it in the 2nd with a good block to save a certain goal. Ward looked more assured defensively than PVA and did move forward when he could. Also when you look at the money we have splashed out on other players both of these have been a steal.

A very entertaining game. Hopefully we'll see a similar open approach next Sunday. I saw some Cardiff fans saying Wilf is overrated before the game...well, I think his performance cleared that misconception up. From their team I like the look of Sean Morrison; he reminds me of Delaney in his sheer will to win but a bit better on the ball. If Sakho was to leave maybe he could be an option?

Not a bad shout. Also the goalie looks good, although I don't think it is a position we need to strengthen in, in the summer and have more pressing concerns. However I am sure he will be in the PL with somebody next season.

It was Solskjaer who signed him from Reading.
No-nonsense defender who also has a long throw in his armoury.
A real threat in the opposition box at set-pieces.

Nothing like progression...

I hear Titus Bramble is available for a bag of chips and a return coach fair.

Etheridge has been their star man all season long. He kept them in matches, saved penalties and is probably their POTY. Could give Guaita a run for his money but Hennessey would have to go. However, we need a lot of help up front, Benteke is injury prone, Zaha and Townsenf are really wingers, Batshuayi will probably be priced too high. Ayew may be an option but he doesnt score enough.

Warnock signed him on a Free from Walsall.

Cardiff have been working on his feet - he tended to move around too much so he couldn't spring as much as he needed to,consequently they have been teaching him to be more still in certain circumstances.

When he was at Charlton, their goalkeeping coach Ben Roberts described Etheridge as a model professional.

Understatement of the year! One league goal and that was offside.

Blimey, I can't remember hearing that phrase in decades. A reflection, I suppose, of the way we were set up and the way we played.

No, Cardiff's failure to defend properly.

Away against Wolves I thought it was OK?

Zaha may well be gone ..too good for us, Benteke has lost all confidence, Townsend could be tempted away with a good offer if we fail again with new replacements, too much needs to be organised in the summer because Meyer given little space cannot create along with Kouyaté who cannot pass under pressure and Schlupp who gets totally carried away by any occasion, not to mention PVA.
We need a huge overhaul to just stay afloat.
