This. It sums it up but a lot on here seem to be happy with our pis poor performances. Personally I don’t get it. As a Palace fan I expect more from our players. Maybe they are just following orders, I hope not but it sounds feasible. Do you not understand how hierarchy works.

Steve Parish himself said we shouldn’t settle for staying up. Also, over last 5 years we have 9th highest net transfer spend and currently have 9th highest wage bill. To me, where we are in league isn’t us performing above ourselves. We could and should do better. Our home form is the issue and playing like we did today against city wouldn’t have been so bad if we hadn’t played like that all season against far lesser teams! We need to attack more at home and be a bit more exciting. Christ, the current approach hasn’t worked has it! Only Huddersfield have a worse record. Roy should get praise for away performances but equally criticism for home. Let’s hope that for the remainder of our home performances we try being a bit more ambitious out.

I can suffer today as City are a top team and every time we tried to attack they punished us. However I am more disappointed with our performances against the lesser team at home. This is the area that Roy needs to work on for next season. Agreed but can you honestly see him changing?

As Klopp said today his side and City are probably the two best sides in Europe. Why people on here think we should be be running them ragged all over the park and blaming Roy for it us beyond me. We are what we are and that is a lower mid table team we do not have the players to be anything else. We are what we are just accept it and enjoy what we have. COYP

Luka has stated that City are one of the best teams in the league and that it was a very hard game for us. I think Luka knows a lot more about the game than all those saying we should have attacked them more!!

COYP It’s as I said above i think- today wasn’t a one off. It’s every home game and we play that way regardless of opponent. We shouldn’t be a Lower midtable team- our squad is better than that and paid accordingly.

Today’s performance was very poor. We were again far to defensive and allowed City to dominate play especially in the first half. Patrick Van Aanholt didn’t have a clue on how to mark Sterling and was mainly responsible for both of his goals. His passing game has also been poor for a number of weeks. We are also losing goals in the final minutes like today. These problems are down to poor management and coaching and RH like most 70+ year olds should get on and retire.

There is a very good reason why we are not able to chase Liverpool

We are a below the top six side like everyone else below the top six, Wolves, Leicester, Watford and Everton have stronger squads then us at the moment ..no so perhaps next season unlike the top six sides who will always be the top six sides.

Totally agree - PVA was asleep for the second (decisive) goal and not for the first time this season - I still haven't forgiven him for not getting closer to that French turd who knocked in the seaweed's winner. I'm also fed up with Townsend pretending to defend- either make a tackle or don't bother coming back. Away games have (Brighton and Tottenham excepted) been great - home games have been one almighty snooze. Can't make up my mind whether Roy should spend more time on his allotment next year or not. As they say, be careful waht you wish for.

Another manager mismanagement induced loss. Whats the sense of not starting Meyer and Kouyate in a game like this? Just so the schlupper can play?
