Gutted I could not go today and yet again our fans did us proud. Watford are such a tin pot club with tin pot fans.

As for the game, a good start to the match and then Watford started to improve and you could see the goal coming. Guaita again looks very questionable from crosses and gives no confidence to the back 4 and Watford clearly knew this.

Second half we looked good and fully deserved the goal. We just could not push on and that was the main disappointment but to say we showed no heart is a joke.

Watford score a very good 2nd goal and it was against the run of play.

I thought Meyer was very quiet again and drifted out of the match too frequently and Guaita made some good saves but is not the solution for a position that really needs to be improved.

Some of the posts on here are a joke, Roy has done a good job and the team did show heart, especially at the start of the second half. We were on top and scored so why did he need to change things? When they score he brings on Benteke which was the right move.

I hate to see the team lose but we have to accept who we are and we cannot expect to win every week which some people on here expect us to do!

Good post. Don't think most managers would change a team if you were on top, even the top one's. The pass made the winner, yet to see any Palace player make anything similar all season. Even if they did it wouldn't be a cert that our strikers would convert. Cannot say we have been robbed today. They are a shade better and had home advantage.

No I was watching Palace without the view of expecting us to outplay everyone every match!

The first 20 minutes we looked strong and were the better team, how is that spineless? The second half we get undone by a good goal and we were well on top at the time. After their second we were poor and that was frustrating.

All fans have different opinions and thats fair enough and that's the joy of football.

Let's get Pardew back shall we!!!!

Show me 1 50:50 ball we won, show me one defensive header we won that wasn’t unopposed, show me 1 offensive header won then you can say we weren’t spineless and totally mismatched against a team that wanted it more than us, just like last week against Brighton.

I find it fascinating when people come out with excuses for failure, especially the ones that see just being in the premier League the be all and end all. And as for the back Roy no matter what attitude?

That's like being on the Titanic and ignoring the fact that others have seen an iceberg because you value being on a luxury cruiser more than risk changing course.

Are you seriously blaming Benteke today?

What is it with people constantly blaming Benteke ask yourself today what service did our strikers get today?

What service have they had all season?

This why we have only scored 15 goals at home all season not cause we have poor strikers the service they get in a game is s***e?

With Palace they are lucky if they 2 chances a game meaning they have to have a very high conversation rate, the top clubs are creating 6 or more chances a game but people forget the ones they miss they are scoring one from the many chances created.

Unfortunately our strikers don’t have that luxury.

We had the upper hand for a moment which was the time to make the necessary substitutions to grub them into the ground. Instead we allow them back into the game and they make the killer sub. We got what we deserved in the end.

Really, well it’s great that you know my understanding of football. You may well be surprised at the level I played at. I suggest it’s you who has missed the boat with the football knowledge. If you bring another forward on to,asyou say to grub them in to the ground, you may well weaken the midfield which I believe is why we tried to play that way in the first place to keep a grip on it. Which is also why we were overrun in midfield on our last outing against them. If we had been losing at that point it would have made sense

What a load of rubbish that’s what makes the better managers stand out as you look for ways to win a game, even more reason to make an attacking sub when you are top.

Do you honestly think Pep at City if they were on top in a crucial game with the scores at 1-1 would not make an attacking sub?

This is why Roy has never won anything and never will cause he has no balls.

Really disappointed with the result. Having. managed to wrestle the momentum away from Watford and got the equaliser we needed to push on but once again our tactics were not up to it. Benteke should have come on at 1-1, and we should have given it a go ( it was a Cup game after all ). We need to manage games better than we have in the last couple of weeks. Today’s result now put an enormous amount of pressure on the Huddersfield game.

Correct.

We was lucky to get the goal the system was not working so once we scored he should of changed it.

The bench selection was strange one and what was Roy thinking starting with 4 central midfielders.

Roys big problems are he is stubborn which is why he stays with the system expecting it will come good.

the other one is he needs to stop selecting people because he likes them schlupp is awful at defending he sticks him as left back when he has not played that role for long time and when he does have moments of looking good they are always when he drives forward well he cant do that there why is that because again Roy screwed up no cover on that side he played 1 winger

Still anyway, I’ll get the first hand info from my nephews son. He was on the bench for Palace today. Tell you what, I’ll let you know.

Yep, I think I will be surprised. If you had the same tactics you would have lost the game as well. Roy has is reactive not proactive That is why we lost the game, simple as.
