For me the tactics have to change at home as it is just not good enough we have played 14 games at home winning 3 drawing 4 and losing 7 scoring just 10 goals and a minus 5 goal difference.

We blame CB and soon it will be MB but the honest answer is we just don’t play to a strikers strengths.

MB face when he saw he was being taken off said it all, for me tonight was a free hit and at 2-1 down we were starting to get on top surely that was the time to bring CB on and go 442 instead we keep the same old tactics then wonder why CB does not score exactly what service did he or MB get tonight.

We have the best Defence outside the top 5 was missing 2 of the normal 4 and then with 10 to go take PVA off why what did this exactly achieve if he had taken PVA off to switch to 3 at the back and to play 2 up top then we would have shown some ambition in trying to force the game instead we stick as we are and still end up losing and conceding another goal.

We need to start letting teams worry about us instead of us continuously worrying about them.

The stats don’t lie something has to change at home the tactics clearly work away from home.

Please Roy you have start Meyer at home as he drives us forward and if we are going to get the best out of CB & MB we have to play them together as 1 up clearly is and has not been working for sometime.

Schlupp had one of his better games today. But should have been all over Pogba for the entire game, but wasn’t. He’s not got the concentration. Switches to left back. United score straight away. What was the point?

Pundits are continually raving about Mayer. He can’t get a start. He comes on, we score after 5 minutes. What does he have to do to get a start?

Not picking Scott Dann. They have Pogba and Lukaku. Schlupp is left to mark Lukaku at corners. The second goal comes from a corner. We never look like a threat from corners. Why's he on the bench?

At 2-1 down he takes of our striker with 1 goal from 1 start for Benteke (3 goals since August 2017). How’s he suddenly expected to turn the fortunes around in 10 minutes against Manchester United.

Hodgson is a throwback from the Field Marshall Hague school of tactics. If it doesnt work. Try they same thing over and over again.

How long until we can get rid of him. He’s only in the job due to sentiment.

Team selection and substitutions have been a bone of contention all season. They were exemplified today following the arrival and subsequent improved fitnesss levels of Batshuyai.
Taking off McArthur for Meyer was a very sound substitution not made before time. It not only transformed us into a powerful dangerous machine that soon led to a very well worked goal but also brought into question yet again why we do not give significantly more field time to one of our most expensive extraornarily talented players. Meyer’s arrival on the pitch instantly transformed us into a very well balanced fast moving slick team constantly threatening the opposition goal.
To then remove Batshuyai was at the very least confusing, but immediately de powered our threat. To follow that substitution with what had to be one of the most bizarre switches this season by pulling off van Arnott for Kouyate expecting Schlupp to instantly switch his thinking process from midfield to left back instantly resulted in acres of space allowing the very annoying yet talented Ashley Young to sweep through and end the game.
So we very successfully turned our team into a potent goal scoring threat for 15 minutes before inexplicably de powering us with the removal of our very energetic loanee for the inclusion of our totally impotent Benteke followed by the Kouyate, van A, Schlupp debacle.
Bizarre to say the least. Confusing, questionable and oh so Palace as we threw away such a great opportunity to rinse the sickly pink shirts from Manchester and end their exceptional revival under Solskjaer.

I do agree - bringing Benteke on would work if we were going to go long to him, but we didn't, and looked most effective moving the ball quickly on the floor. The PVA substitution was inexplicable except as a convoluted way to keep Schlupp on the pitch... worrying that a player of his questionable quality is now considered a must-play by Roy.
