Property ownership is becoming a middle class thing. The working classes are going to be perennial renters. The welfare class will get social housing. The middle will own... the upper middle/higher classes will deal in property.

A truism that you won't get taught at school and only observation will tell you because the mainstream media doesn't like 'home truths' either.....because their bosses are all wealthy.

I agree that this is a process that has actually been going on a long time. The difference now is pace. We are talking about tens of thousands arriving here and needing housing, whereas in the past it was just an almost imperceptible trickle.

I know it is the territory of the left to make comparisons to the past and claim it is all normal but that is a lie plain and simple. The current rate of population increase is unprecedented.

All comparison claims on previous immigration are a nonsense.

Even without the 'plain as day' statistics anyone who has seen what has happened to London in thirty years can attest to that.

Are we alone in being paranoid as a nation in having to own property.
I read that in Europe most people rent.
I believe certain countries have a fixed rate per size. Not sure if true though.
Why is it home ownership is so important.

What you're seeing is upward mobility.

Also too many farmers with too much farming land perhaps?

I am delighted to see that you are a supporter of land reform Stirling.

It is a shame that Scotland only paid it lip service when there was a chance to make radical changes.

I assume you agree that significant tranches of land should be taken away from giant agribusiness (nationalised?) and given to the smaller farmers who tend to focus on food production and often achieve more per hectare. They also are more prone to using traditional methods less likely to exhaust the soil, a major concern currently. It would also give social benefits.

The UK is currently less than 76% self sufficient for food and has not been self sufficient for over 200 years. A good job Brexit is coming then. That may drive land reform.

I'm working class and interested in what's better for the country overall. I have a sense of English/British/European/Western identity and an allegiance to secularism.

I am very concerned about how the politicians both national and from the EU have handled these concerns these past couple of generations.

They have trashed my country.

Housing is just one of the consequences of their political short term decisions. I have no particular desire to punish property owners such as farmers.

However, as the population continues to rise the impact on people like farmers is going to be obvious. They will come into the firing line.

Decisions on priorities will have to be made. The stupidity and short termism of operating an immigration ponzi scheme over decades will became apparent enough.
