You didn’t miss anything, there’s a winter transfer window as usual next season.

Only difference is the summer window closes before the first round of matches.

Thanks the.universal, I thought I must have been asleep somewhere..

Well, Wilf until at least Jan imho.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Cabaye return to France and Riedewald to The Netherlands.

Cavalieri will be gone as will Fosu-Mensah and Rakip and in all likelihood RLC.No futures for Delaney,Souare,Puncheon,Sako,Chung-Yong,Mutch and possibly others.

Plenty of movement through that 'Revolving Door'.

Cabaye i can see heading back to live a life in his home land - makes sense.
We need to invest in a few players it would seem.

Roy will have identified the players he wants and those he will release it's up to Parrish and Freeman to prove they are actually up to the job. Our manager has proved himself the other two haven't. Sadly I think that SP will keep his head firmly up his arse and try again to do it late and on the cheap.

Got to say it’s a bit of a cheek to say SP hasn’t proved himself. How many years in the top division?

Our 'Net Spend' in the PL since 2014 is I think the 6th highest.

I am hoping Palace do a bit of a Burnley and a bit of a Southampton. FDB had a half-thought there is something of true merit in the youth teams, to be promoted. Wan-Bisaka is a case in point.Sean Dyche has proved once 'foreign'and new tactics are worked out, a team of British players are able to counter them. Even Thuggersfield have shown how to combat the methods invested in so heavily by the big clubs.
Although Leicecster look odds on certs for trouble next season they have shown us all it can be done. I wonder if Palace interest Vardie, Mahrez and Maguire?

Because trying to do it on the cheap is a false economy and results in having to fix it in the January window and at greater expense.

I've read a couple of times on here that there might not be a January window any more. If that comes to pass it obviously means the consequences of f***ing up this coming window will be even more ghastly than usual, of course.

It was announced last year that the big clubs in Europe have been discussing this but there has nothing being announced officially and I am assuming that the 'Window' in January 2019 still stands.

What is official is that our summer 'Window' closes before the first round of games unlike in previous seasons when it has still been open whilst the season has been in progress.

Agree with most of these.

Punch still has another year so won't be going anywhere as does Mutch (on loan until end of 2018 only). Both players on massive salaries so there will be no takers.

Cabeye will go, i think he almost did last summer as Marseille were keen.

Regardless of whether Benteke stays we definitely need a younger centre forward who offers us something different - a Dwight Gayle type. Must be someone in the lower divisions who would love the opportunity and would be prepared to sit on the bench and maybe get 20 minutes here and there. Would give us the option to go 442 or 424 and Wilf is not a centre forward (almost all his goals have been scored when Benteke hasn't been playing this season).

Roy certainly needs to address the unbalanced feel to the squad - we were woefully short in attacking positions, even before injuries took a toll, and at times our bench has been embarrassing.

Incidentally having a high wage bill doesn't always equate to quality - look at Sunderland they went down with a massive wage bill. Whilst we are definitely in a better situation other than our starting 11 our squad is short of quality

Would expect this to be our busiest summer in a while. With (hopefully) Roy not walking the second the season finishes and the entire support behind him, we will have rare managerial harmony for once which should aid with planning. Realistically we probably need 6/7 players with the expected departures. A new keeper (is the Spanish guy still coming?), a CM and striker are huge priorities.

I am expecting this as well.
And let's not forget that the 'Window' shuts 3 weeks earlier than normal - On 9th August instead of 31st August.
