Has to be said we’ve been absolutely diabolical in front of goal this season all round and the lack of confidence stemming from this isn’t what you want going into the business end of the season. To be honest the only time I have any confidence we might score is when McArthur gets a half chance.

Feels like events are conspiring against a bit at the moment.

All of us are just being realistic about our chances based on our squad strength, injury situation, forthcoming games and the results of our rivals. At the end of the day we would far rather be comfortable about our plight than being in a state of anguish. We all care very much, hence why we are really concerned about where we are heading.

I respect the views of the 'Positive' brigade but alas I don't share their positivity.I haven't instigated a tirade against them on HOL as they are entitled to their viewpoint and HOL would be very dull if we all agreed with one another. At the end of the day we are all supporters who want the very best for our club.

Swansea were considered by most on here as toast a few weeks ago, if they had your outlook they most certainly would be.
They haven't a great squad, but a new found belief.
Your wallowing in your negativity, doesn't do anyone any good.
You don't want the best for the club, just the chance to say you were right.

From the day Roy took over he has said it is a 31 game season for us. Not about any single game, its about them all. He has made it clear on more than one occasion that win or lose it's about where we are at the end of the season. A lot of football to be played yet and our form is good.

three defeats in 16.

In my book, Roy is doing brilliantly with a squad decimated by injuries.
Btw I'm sickened by Guardiola's whinging about injuries to his super squad when we've got just as many in ours - I understand it's an increasingly common condition called dyspepsia.

How many times do I have to refute such 24-carat tosh ?

I have been an avid supporter of our club since the 60s and I will be totally distraught if we are relegated.
IF I am proved right I will certainly NOT instigate any thread to this effect and will only comment if others make of point of pointing out this fact.

On another tact, what I didn't realise until today is that 5 of Southampton's next 6 games are Away from home. Here's hoping Chelsea win tomorrow.

Willo, I have been a supporter since the 40's!
I am one of your 'positive' brigade.
I meet people like you all the time. There is black clouds in the sky and you think its going to rain.
The sun comes out and we are all going to get sunstroke.
Enjoy the rain, enjoy the sun.Makes the flowers grow.
We have issues. Injuries, more than most, loss of confidence perhaps, passion for our team? yes always and if you negative brigade want to wallow in your doom and gloom, save your money dont come and most of all do not try and impose your misery on others.
Benteke keep going young fella, the sun will come out for you again and yes we will stay up. I dont expect much from the next 3 games, but watch us fly after that and stay in the premiership.
Rant over.
Darling! wheres me milk and biscuit, Bananas in Pyjamas is just coming on, wheres me bloody glasses.

Yes, that is amazing. Fixture computer throws some odd run of fixtures. Also, just saw that out of 11 fixtures remaining, Soton have just 4 at home and 7 away. Home matches are vs Stoke Chelsea Bournemouth and Manchester City. So, they will have to show very good away from home to survive. (Their win Vs WBA A last week was impressive!). But their next 5 are all winnable Burnley A, Stoke H, Newcastle A Swansea A and West Ham A. Then there is Arsenal A and Chelsea H. They end with Leicester A Bournemouth H, Everton A and Man C H.

If I were an Soton fan, I would be rather worried!!

Personally think palace have to beat one of the top 4 to stay up. just like last season which as I've said before with our run in will get us though just like last season we have the best squad among the bottom 8 clubs so nothing to fear

In terms of Bournemouth I mentioned before their game today that complacency could be a factor and in his post-match interview Eddie Howe said that mentally they weren't right as a team and used the word "Complacency".

Their next league game is Home to Newcastle.
