Wow. Yet another article by the Croydon Ad based solely on bookies odds. Must be fun being the sports writer for them these days.

You never know with Scottish premier players. When your being out performed by Lee Griffiths, 20+ million’s seems a lot. Dembele’s career statistics are not too far off Garry Hooper just before he left the championship to play Scottish league football (and you wouldn’t pay 20 million for him) I don’t understand the hype with this guy. Did Ok with Fulham and had one good season with Celtic. I hope I’m wrong if we sign him. When Dembele was at Fulham I talked to a Fulham supporter I know who goes to 'Craven Cottage' on a fairly regular basis. He didn't rate Dembele all that highly but of course Celtic signed him and he might have improved since his Fulham days.Dembele is still very young and was of course very inexperienced when playing for Fulham. Although I feel the prospect of Dembele coming to us is unlikely this has been due to the reported refusal of a 18 mill bid from Brighton earlier in the window. This report however claims it was a 12 mill bid with Celtic wanting 20 mill. This could make it more likely a fee anywhere between 16 to 18 mill could be agreed to, which could make it more into the realms of do-able for Palace: [Link]

With Celtic looking set to boost their attacking options with the signing of Charly Musonda from Chelsea, maybe (insert massive maybe) this might squeeze the door open ajar for us to nab Dembele?
