According to Willo's contacts Wilf will leave in the summer & for once I believe his cat! Personally I can see him joining the Arse in the summer when Sanchez goes. He didn't enjoy his time living up North in Manchester so staying in London will appeal to him. I will be gutted when he leaves although not as much as when Wright left but he deserves his chance to play at a higher level. I hope he stays & I am wrong but the big clubs will be looking at his performances this season & will be bidding for him. Edited by Welsh Eagle (19 Dec 2017 11.10pm) Dear me.

I really cannot accept that I am being a hypocrite on HOL as described above. We are forgetting something. Parish has already sold him for £15mill so for those thinking he won't do so again for £55mill might want to have a re-think. And purchased him back for a reported £3 mill (on Hol).

Too many glib comments on here, like, "he should leave", he's too good for us", he should be playing at a higher level" and "he deserves better". Shocking, are you really Palace fans? He is who he is because of being at Palace not despite being here. He loves the club, the club loves him, why should he want to leave. He would not be the same player being a small fish in a big pond as some have alluded to on here. He has a young family and is settled in the area, his parents are also here, he has admitted he is a family man. I genuinely believe there is more to Wilf than an obsession to move in higher circles. The only scenario wherein he should leave in my opinion is if we get relegated. The Le Tissier analogy is a good one and nothing has changed in football other than the amount of money on offer and that is certainly not a reason to leave Palace in Wilf's case. He has the opportunity at Palace to become the all time club legend as is Le Tissier to Southampton. For many players that is worth far more than moving to a club where he might not play all the time and is considered as just another player, etc, etc. The arguments have all been put forward on here already. All this thread does is add fuel to the rubbish spouted by the crap journos who scour these message boards for click bait. Don't be surprised to see articles with, "Palace fans think it is time for Wilf to move on" shortly. Every response on here should be, keep Wilf at all costs unless of course Barca want to swap him for Messi and then we might consider it Spot on with tinsel and knobs on!
If I agreed with you we'd both be wrong |

I think we have a reasonable chance of holding onto him in the Jan window, but that come the summer, he'll have a raft of very good offers, that he'd be crazy not to take.

If we remain in EPL then it will take an incredible offer for us to sell. SP is a business man if he thinks that he can improve our side for money he gets he will do it, if not he won't. Wilf was signed on a long term contract and given a pay rise for a reason to keep him. Wilf is already an international and outside City, Chelsea and possibly United he won't get a similar deal elsewhere in wages, he also may not be a first team regular. If he continues to improve an offer may come in that we can't refuse. If I was a betting man I would say Chelsea with RLC, Abraham and someone else like Kasey Palmer or Iziah Brown plus some money coming our way.

Only a couple of teams can win anything worth winning and Wilf will just be one of the crowd if he goes there. He also has no World Cup to worry about.
