We tried that with de Boer, that turned out badly. Going for someone with no Premier experience is risky for a club of our standing. We cant get the top level managers.
Going for ex players because you like them, with no experience at all, is suicide.

Wasn’t on about as manager necessarily. But you need to give people roles with routes into management to see if they have what it takes.
FDB was a bad fit. I’m sure he’ll make a come back and do well somewhere when he comes out from wherever he is hiding.

That might be your opinion, but it may well not play out that way. There are no certainties in life, let alone football.

Deep.

Think a certain mr Freedman could be involved if that’s the road we take .

That’s exactly what I’m thinking too. Freedman wants redemption and another crack at it.

Re the OP's question, it would be a very good one to ask Steve Parish when he next gives a holmesdale radio or five year plan interview.

I haven't anything against giving people a route into management, but being a Premiership club, we are not best suited too.
Most ex players who want to get into management go via the lower league route to learn their trade.
This thought of looking after ex Palace players is ridiculous, they were highly paid for their service whilst here. They don't need the money, if they want to make it into management, let them stand on their own two feet.
