Our squad in its present form is good enough to finish top half. I would blow our entire budget on him. It was injuries and a dipstick in charge at the start that caused our problems. We played great football at the end of the season and RLC was a big part of that. He fits our team and club like a glove. Fabulous young player

Think even if Chelsea did accept a bid from us (which they won’t) he’d turn down a move here. Think his ambition is greater than to play for us (don’t blame him for having lofty aspirations and good luck to him)

Chelsea have a problem with him now. He will demand a first team place when he returns or will want to move on. Yes Chelsea can say no but having a disgruntled member of your squad is damaging so they will either have to agree or sell or loan him out. Will he want to be loaned out again? I think he would push for a permanent move. Yes he wants to play at the highest level but first team football at present is more important.I think he would be best suited to a club our level with a buyout clause at about £80 million. Clubs bigger than us will not guarantee of first team football and the risk of losing his international place. He appears to have been happy with us and knows that both him and TFM got into international sides with us. For these reasons I think if chelsea decide to sell (and I think they will) we may be his prefered destination. They may want a buy back clause or a sell on clause but if that is set high enough then this should not be a problem. If he comes to us and we fly over next few years and become a team in Europe neither he (or Wilf) will want to go elsewhere if we don't then we develop him and sell on for a profit.

You overlook the option of him just playing for Chelsea. As things stand is it ridiculous to suggest he gets in the team over Bakayoko? Pedro? Even Fabregas?

I think you can make a case that he’d get meaningful game time at Chelsea next year

I agree. He’s certainly good enough to get in the Chelsea first team now and can’t see they wouldn’t pick him.

Then we'll loan whoever loses his place to RLC

Highly depending on who is manager I would say. If Conte stays I would think he would want to move on. The average foreign manager in any case may have other thoughts and consider him a squad player regardless of what happens in the national team.
Meaningful game time maybe, but how much of it would be a huge uncertainty.

I could never cheer for Fabregas or Pedro.......
And don't rate Bakayoko at all.

He's certainly a better one to keep than Drinkwater and Barkley, as well as those you've mentioned.

He looked like a man amongst boys when he came on.

Optimistic as ever

Your optimism is quite amusing Midlands but a great positive on a negative.

we really want Delli Alli to not be injured and to play like a god. if not, I think RLC will come out of this world cup with an excellent reputation and be far out if our reach. to be honest, I think that he'll just be a Chelsea regular now anyway. I think abramovich has had it with England and may see it as unwise to lavish money here when relations between Britain and Putin are so bad.

any hope of getting him woukd surely not be permanent/no strings??

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.
