I have never really understood the need to insult people. Obviously, interpersonal skills are not everyone's strength but it does seem little to ask of a politician to be careful in what they say. That is kind of their job. I'm not so keen on digging up things people said 15 years ago in a different environment and retrospectively punishing them for it. Mugabe had removed his VP and is expected to put his wife in place. Hard to believe it's possible, but it's probably even further downhill for Zimbabwe if she succeeds him.
