From a business point of view it pretty much guaranteed their money. Of course they would not evict the club but they would have the option to sell to someone who might further down the line. Not their problem then, is it?

No one knows what was going on behind the scenes, if he lost the players then that's it. If it can happen to mourinho it can happen to anyone.

We gate crashed the prem through the play offs and have struggled a bit ... with the exception of an FA cup final and a mid table finish. We can not expect more than that currently and SP should not be scape goated for what has just happened as none us know what went on behind the scenes! I can't believe for a minute that SP & co would not have given FDB more time after y'days performance so something else must have been going on ... it's that simple!

If they were guaranteed 'their money' then where were the competitors for this investment? If this was a sensible financial decision then why did this club so nearly go out of business. They were prepared to lose money, all they were doing was attempting to lessen the burden on running the club. If the club continued to fare poorly.....as it had been doing for a long time....then 'further down the line' I'm doubtful.....that they would have much of a price to demand and so come out of things well.....Unless they were going to flog it to developers.....which you now don't appear to be suggesting. We are at the bottom of the premiership, with a squad that has Benteke, Zaha, cabaye etc instead of being bottom of the championship with players like Ambrose, Calvin Andrew, Paddy Mccarthy. Ye that Parish has done such a poor job...
