I don't get this 'he's not Palace'. I've heard this used against Benteke, Hennessey, Chamakh, Townsend and a host of other players. Yes, Parish may have 'stopped the rot' early but there were other things that need addressing. The farce of the transfer window which leads onto this publicised promise of funds to allow de Boer to play his style, the whole interview process (with the quoted short list of 37) and why de Boer was not informed straight that Burnley result was of no import to the inevitable sacking.
I can't say that I'm over the moon with Hodgson's immediate arrival. I just hope Roy can get some points on the card before three games are up! Once again like with the Allardyce signing it's a signing made because of our league position and not for the future. Edited by manwitheagletattoo (12 Sep 2017 9.09am)

Parish fvcked up. Again. Time to leave it at that. Time to move on. Welcome manager No.8. Roy. Just don't get too cosy as No.9 will be along shortly. Edited by Kermit8 (12 Sep 2017 9.43am)

The shareholders probably also couldn't handle de Boer in charge v Pellegrino after just playing Dyche.

Edited by Kermit8 (12 Sep 2017 9.43am) These feck ups are starting to be costly. £6 mil on Frank. X wasted extending Pardew's contract. X wasted having to buy 2 LB's in January whereas if we had Souare and 1 other we might have had enough points and players to see us through in that area. But then Pardew may have survived although I think it was inevitable anyway. Fitness and unprofessional approach and all that, signing players off a panini album only. All of the mistakes in isolation are excusable but added up they are costly, limit what we can do further on and bring relegation ever closer, but if we're sold, what do the Americans care?

Let us hope Roy Hodgeson is these 'safe pair of hands'.
We will never know what went on but Jairo Riedewald looked like a FDB signing, Tete and another ajax player, a goalkeeper who turned us down. We were linked in the press with a number of players (Possibly just speculation). This suggests to me that FDB was given the ability to start his evolution. Our results were poor and clearly we had square pegs in round holes still no one joined. Then completely out of the blue we get a director of football. His job? I suggest to get rid of some of our fringe players and organise loans. Also act as a filter between FDB and Parish who I suspect was upset at lack of action. Finally on deadline day We get Sakho(a Parish and fan choice?) and just miss out on 2 strikers (FDB or DF or SP choices). I am very unsure where blame lies most I think FDB was wrong man ( I didn't on appointment but in practice his actions and words did not match) , SP appointed him so must take some blame for that. Did he give him enough funds or did FDB not spend them ? We don't know

It's not looking pretty, is it? The rot set in a while back and pre-Pardew imo. Parish is a one-dimensional sort of Chairman and hasn't grown into the role anymore than what he was like in 2013. Doesn't learn from mistakes and will keep repeating them and focuses way too much time on only one part of the club rather than evolving the peripheral aspects which would enable CPFC to leap forward. We are more like QPR circa:2014 these days than CPFC circa: 2012 His luck will run out and Del Boy chancer tactics shown up to all.

I think everything you say is so correct, SP is now the laughing stock of PL football, he has proven to be a liability, having virtually no idea how to run a PL football club. Considering we are in our fifth season in PL and we still have no continuity or stability. His constant medaling in football matter has got under the skin of some good managers (Sam, Pullis and recently FdB) and he has made some very poor appointments in others. He decision making is suspect and often he cannot make his mind up what he wants to do. He has meddled in the transfer market and brings in players who have a poor medical history (Sako, Wickham, Tomkins etc). then he decides he wants to play like Barcelona and Real Madrid which is madness to say the least when you have such a limited budget. He has difficulty in getting deals over the line because he always wants his own way and has no give or take so that players and club are in win win situations it is always me, me. He has placed himself in a position that is well above his competence level and continues to think he is untouchable, living on the reputation that he saved the club with others in 2010. He takes a salary of £650k pa. He probably pulled out of Dragons Den at the minute because he suddenly realised that you only have a few minutes to make a decision rather than the two or three months or even longer a far as AP was concerned that he is more used to. Finally, he appoints DF as sporting director (his yes man!), who has not made much of a career as a Manager anywhere and seems to forget that he dumped us for Bolton because he felt he was better off there than working under the thumb of SP. Come on Steve show us you care more about the club than your own ego, step aside take a back seat or sell out your shares so that we can have a chance with a chairman who has the ability to run a PL outfit!

I have said for several seasons that Parish is the problem and this cements it. He and the investors better start running the club properly or sell to someone who can.
