Well, that was an anti-climax, we're staying up, that's the main thing, would have been nice to end on a high though. At least it's left Sam in no doubt that he's got his work cut out for him. Big clearout in the summer and we start all over again next season. Happy days.

Don't kid yourself.

Well looks like we finished only 2 places below where we would've otherwise, which isn't the end of the world I guess. But our inability to hold on to the ball or get it back from Man U does concern me - they weren't great today.

All over in this game after 20 mins. Performance showed a poor mindset which seems also to be prevalent in a number of clubs, not just us. Looks like a lot of fans have been short changed today. Clubs should repay fans for these end of season no shows in my opinion. COYP !!

While the performance was poor, particularly in the 1st half, I can't agree with gutless. Look at Hull, Watford, & Everton, who were up a man and still lost 3-1. Even Boro folded like a cheap suit. At least after going down 2 Palace managed not to concede further.

Let's take a lesson from this as I'm sure Big Sam will. Our academy needs big time strengthening. I hate to say it but Manure constantly turn out 1st team players from theirs while we have had to rebuild ours since the last administration. Not only does it needs money but also better coaching and scouting.

Let's face it, we all fell for Mourinho's sandbagging.

Second half was better but the damage was done by then. Really missed Cabaye again, without him the midfield was like the A1 and Milivojevic and Puncheon both seem to perform worse if he's not there. A few of them looked knackered, which is perhaps unsurprising. If Tekers' header had crept in we might still have got a point; we blunted their attack much more after half time.

Mourinho is a t*** and probably the worst sportsman in football. I hope they get stuffed in the Eureopa League final.

Yeah, maybe I should have said "praying for a big clearout".

Bangell - If Camus wrote The Myth of Sisyphus today, it would be about Jason Puncheon eternally trying and failing to pass with his right foot.

^^ This. Awful all season. The weak link in midfield. Don't know why he is always picked.

Perhaps next season we don't bother going to the 2 games in Manchester and just give them the points - save everyone the effort.

Punch's inconsistency is a big worry. Even in the same match, he can go from the sublime to the ridiculous. And mostly it's the latter. His talent is largely wasted because his concentration is so feeble.
