We played like we did at the beginning of the season. We lost our discipline, especially after Sahko went off. Reverted to stupid long hopeful balls out of defense, gave Zaha and Townsend no meaningful service. Totally outclassed in midfield (but somehow you expected that), gave then too much time and respect. It took one great shot to win it but I think it could have been saved (no disrespect to WH). These are the kind of matches we need to learn from and come away with a point. Like SA said, if you can't win it don't lose it ! Bit harsh I think.
Bangell - If Camus wrote The Myth of Sisyphus today, it would be about Jason Puncheon eternally trying and failing to pass with his right foot. |

A great performance by Palace, really. Tottenham looked very beefy, strong and skilled, and we did well to make it close. Sahko getting injured is what beat us and WH just isn't good enough at this level. He has a lot of good aspects about him but he lets in too many shots on target, especially long range, ones 'good' keepers keep out. Well done the lads though, they looked awesome but couldn't beat Tottenham's defenders. Bad luck about Sahko - a definite hamstring and he'll be out for months. It looked like he got across very slowly from the upset holmesdale. I think a top class keeper would have saved it. On the whole a good well organised performance. We made Spurs look pretty ordinary especially for the first hour. They resorted to kicking us and relying on John Moss to relieve pressure on them every time they were dispossessed on the half way line. Ref had a shocker. Incompetent performance. How Ward got a card and Sissoko and Dembele didn't I don't know. And Walker and Wanyama lucky not to get sent off. Very poor very biased.

Well if they run the clock down and say we struggled at times ,we can say we did something right . No dramas, back to winning Saturday. Think Sundays game took a lot out of us otherwise we may have done a job on them. With Sakho out, I am a little concerned about Saturday's game. If we were tired tonight (we were) we'll still be tired on Saturday - but with one less player available. Burnley have been kicking back. We have the quality, but we have a thin squad and no rest.
We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football. |

What with that and what happened to Tomkins on Sunday it's pretty clear what the agenda is. And I wouldn't be surprised if the brief he got from the FA reflected the fact that if Spurs didn't get three points the title race was effectively over.

Sakho is out for the season I guess. Lads gave it their all tonight. Again. Think we're gonna look jaded against burnley and don't expect a win. In fact the Liverpool result maybe the last we get this season. Fingers crossed it's enough.

Bit harsh I think. I don't think so. You could argue we were a little under done by Sunday's win but they are after all, professionals. We ceded them 70% possession and they set up wave after wave from midfield. I thought our defense played ok but we were definitely affected by the injury to Sahko and gaps started to appear too regularly. We need to grind out draws in games like this when we were clearly second best.
