I don't recall Speroni ever making "endless mistakes",especially last season when I don't think he played any league games. He meant the season before.

Hennessey has played approaching thirty league games over the last year of which we have won three. He's left countless question marks against his performances during this same period. We've picked up three wins with Mandanda in eight league games. Jury's still out with Mandanda but Hennessey's had his chance. You are surely not blaming WH for our poor win record over the last year? If you want to compare stats for this season, WH averages 3.1 saves per games and concedes 1.84 goals per games; SM averages 2.64 saves per game and concedes 1.88 goals. And before anyone starts saying that Speroni is better, just remember that he hasn't had a clean sheet in any of his last 14 league games. To be honest, none of the keepers is perfect - they all have their pros and cons. Speroni is the best instinctive shot-stopper from close range, but his back-spin kicking is poor, he gets beaten too easily from distance, doesn't dominate his area and his penalty record is woeful. Hennessey is the best for dominating his area and his kicking is good, but he's worse at free-kick positioning, can be slow getting down to low shots and he hasn't got near a penalty yet either. From what I've seen of Mandanda he doesn't dominate his area and his quick distribution caused several problems with players not expecting the ball.

Sorry but Hennessey never dominates his area at all.....Rarely comes for crosses and for a tall man never looks confident catching high balls

Hennessey often comes for crosses and takes them cleanly. Sometimes he stays back - depends on whether he thinks he can get there or not, same as any keeper.

At corners, he rarely comes out and touches anything, let alone catch it. He's glued to his line most times behind a phalanx of scared defenders.

As I say, rarely does the man come out to dominate his 6 yd box at corners, nor does he dominate at said set pieces. Although one of his better games, Saturday was no different.

The spills were from low down shots. He took cleanly all the crosses he came for. Made a European team of the week - but, hey, you don't rate him so what does a good performance matter?

I must say I think Hennessy is under rated. He's an international. A great shot stopper. And he's huge. The players seem to like him too. His biggest mistake is he's not Julian Speroni. I don't think that's his fault.

Too frequently he makes the wrong decisions either costing the team goals or at worst leaving them unsettled. I couldn't care less whether he spills something low down or high up, he's still spilling it rather than keeping hold of it. One italian paper puts him in the team of the week but no UK sports article did - who's right/wrong there then? taking ALL the crosses he came for is all a bit subjective. If he only came for one, what did he do with the rest?

He's not perfect - we can't afford one of those but he's the best we've got.
