The trail seems to have gone cold on Flamini - as Subglurge rightly posted. Journalism is trying to be clever (...pondering, options are extremely limited, it would be a step down and so on...). What is happening now? If we do not sign Don Matteo this week, we will not sign him anymore. There is a gap because of Jedi's (untimely) departure. Flamini may not be the perfect fit, but he could do a good job for us for the rest of the season. Hopefully he will sign this week and be ready for the bench on Saturday.

There is no way he would be ready for Sat. It will take around 3/4 weeks to get him anything like fit to play.

Difficult decision make, let me see, erm, erm, do I believe the daily comics like the SUN, MIRROR, or the MAIL, or do I believe the OFFICIAL PREMIER LEAGUE site, I'm afraid I believe the official site [Link] which clearly states and I quote from paragraph 3 "Changes to the squad list of 25 may be made during the period of a transfer window". Victor Anichebe signed for Sunderland as a free agent last week after the closing date for the squad to be declared, if you scroll down to the Sunderland team squad you will not find his name on the Premier Leagues official 25 man squad list, I wonder why. First rule of holes, mate - when you're in one, probably best to stop digging
Jackson.. Wan Bissaka.... Sansom.. Nicholas.. Cannon.. Guehi.... Zaha... Thomas.. Byrne... Holton.. Rogers.. that should do it.. |

Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

I guess since Palace dont have to deal with a club, jts just Flamini and his agent, so things could be under the radar, until a deal is signed ... Hopefully this week.

00.30am That's it for the summer transfer window, with no more deals set to be announced. The winter version is set to open on 1 January 2017 but, remember, players who are free agents can sign outside the window.

No further news on this possible signing, although Pardew has today confirmed no interest in Russell Osman ,who was another potential loan signing recently released by the toffees.

Good, he's 57 now so if people are doubting Flamini at 32 he has no chance. Any mention of interest in Leon Osman? Edited by Littlebogreek (06 Sep 2016 2.58pm)

I scan this post twice a day hoping for news about Bickering, hair splitting and insult swapping - I think we can be certain that if he does sign he will be eligible to play when fit. And to those who say he'd be a poor replacement for our ex-captain I say he'd be a brilliant addition - not so aggressive or a leader of men but someone who would add skill and subtlety in feeding our new strike force. Sadly we had one such a player, Barry Bannan, but he was let go. Prematurly as it turns out given the manager's apparent conversion to having a team that plays football. Pity he didn't convince Jack Wilshere. So, very much fingers crossed on Flamini - his arrival would complete an excellent transfer window.
