Big Sam would be perfect for the current set up. Won't suffer players not pulling their weight and will get them organised. That's what normally wins you games!

Palace and proud since 89

S**t, an English manager should be s**t. I don't really subscribe to the idea the English manager should be English, on the basis that there are a) very few top English managers and b) even less with experience of football outside of England.

Other international teams seem to have managers who have competed at high levels, as opposed to managers who are better known for having 'kept teams up'. Hodgeson, was probably one of the most experienced English managers ever, and lets face it, his most well known achievement was keeping Fulham in the premiership....

Is there an English manager with real experience in say the Champions League, or UEFA cup?

And yet, we expect an English Manager to do well at even higher levels than the UEFA and Champions League.

I just don't think the answer if you cannot find an adequate manager from your own nation is to go out and get another nation's manager

Although it is not against the rules to have a foreign manager it's generally accepted that in International football the manager should be from within your shores. Sometimes smaller Nations bring in outside coaches to help develop their national game but it is highly embarrassing that England, who invented the game and won the world cup should resort to a foreign Manager

It shows spectacular failure from the FA and they should consider closing down and rebuilding the whole organisation from scratch

England play rubbish football.

We need a coach who gets the best out of rubbish (& overrated) footballers.

BFS is the answer.

Sam with the current set up would be good. he'll take no s***. football might be direct but then us palace fans are used to that. I actually felt sorry for him when his son cocled up his chances last time round.

Given that I support club waaaay before country, I just hope one of the other Premier League clubs loses their manager to the England setup at a really inconvenient time. Bruce would be fine, I don't even care if he does a pants job with England.

Immediately after those talks they've invited some gunk from the underside of a barrel for an interview.

Talk about scrapping the barrel, Allerdyce and now Bruce.

i think we might struggle to qualify for the world cup with either in charge.

I think Allardyce might be ok. Could do a lot worse.

Steve Bruce is just not good enough.
