Banged in his 22nd league goal of the season to help clinch promotion for the south coast mob. That brings him level with another CPFC cast-off Dwight Gale. It's amazing how many people on this forum were screaming for the club to be rid of these two. The Championship this year has been poor. Always loved GM but he would not/will cut it in the Premiership. I also think the same about DG. I have seen a rumour Newcastle may be looking to offload...Brighton anybody!!

Reflecting on saying it was a great bit of business selling him for the price we got.... Is it fair to say that we have spunked more than we got on signing Remy on loan for a year?

I know he only played a handful of games (similar to Sakho I think)...but Matthew Upson on loan in the early 2000's was quality. I think he was coming back from injury and Arsenal wanted to get him game time...I remember him being immense in the few games he played. Nod to Herman the German from our 98 prem season as well. oops...that was meant to be in the centre back thread. Dunce! Edited by SurreyEagle16 (28 Apr 2017 8.50pm)

Knocked in his 23rd league goal of the season today, inspiring the south coast mob's automatic promotion. However, Sky's Paul Walsh has written him off for next season, saying he's nowhere near good enough for Prem and they will definitely have to buy someone better. It will be interesting to see what happens and at least the 'Bring Back Glenn Murray' lot will have a chance to get their wish to at least see him at Selhurst next season.

I agree with Paul Walsh. So do I. He seems to like life on the South Coast, wouldn't be surprised seeing him sign for Portsmouth.

Won't get that much game time next season. But will still in my opinion end up with a good goals to game ratio. Very, very clever, experienced striker who has scored goals at all levels.

I always rated Murray as a player who instinctively knew where the ball was going. Natural football brain who would be a great asset to the squad. Everyone knows he scores plenty goals, Get him and Defoe and we'd be sorted up front. Forget another 30m+ player and get two proven goal scorers instead! Also better from an injury risk mitigation perspective.
