bill brysons a brief history of nearly everything.
A very good read indeed, and a great accomplishment for a non-science author to develop a perspective on such a broad subject. I've just finished reading 'Ultramarathon man' by Dean Karnazes. A true athletic freak but phenomenal drive and willpower. Very inspiring to challenge the limits both we ourselves and society sets for us.

Currently reading Neil Warnocks book. Great little read. Very interesting to read that Shaun Derry landed one on Taarabt during a game at Spurs. Taarabt doesn't across very well at all. Defo worth a read. Includes stuff about Palace.

Papillon - Henri Charriere Don't know why I've left it until now to read this book it has all the elements or a story I love - true, cunning prison escape, adventure through far-off exotic locations and high seas, and of course a dash of savagery here and there

Cheers elgrande was doing a bit of research on Charriere and all the theories about whether it was a story of his life or stories he nicked from other inmates and Blanco came up in that. Would be interested to know what happened to all those loose ends in his life that needed tying up.

Am reading CJ Sansom's latest, can't remember the title cost its upstairs in the bog! All about a 1960s Britain basically crushed by Hitler. Fascists are rounding up Jews and there's a resistance movement growing but small. Pretty good read.
