Right enough of this shyte.

Who thinks uncontrolled boarders or unchecked immigration to the UK would be a good thing for the economy ?

Simple yes no will do. No other smoke and mirrors, bulsh1t, or belittling are required.

As an aside I have read through the posts on here and whilst being totally dismissive of derban's points, not one person has effectively argued against them.

Derban I doff my cap mate. Well Played Sir.

That would be because the answer as we all know Danno is a resounding No.

Economic migration, as everybody with an ounce of sense knows comes with both pro's and cons for both the 'inidigenous' and 'immigrant' populations.

Thank you, so we agree that boarder controls are a must , we are just haggling over the level it would seem.

For me at the moment it is not controlled enough, there are tens of thousands of people mincing about in the UK who simply have no right to work or be here.

My question is why or how has this happened on a Island nation with 30 miles of sea (or a fecking long tunnel) between it and it's nearest EU Border.

To say all immigration has to stop is I agree idiotic, but to let it continue in its current format or levels or boarder protection/checks is equally as idiotic.

No Politician has the balls to out right admit that its out of control because of the "racism card" stigma that labour attached to anyone who dared criticise, FFS Diane Abbott based her entire political career on positive discrimination, further more the responce to Farage saying he wants tighter border security is proof that the labour devised technique of labeling anyone who dares comment on boarder control a jack boot wearing Hitler disciple is still very much in existance.

It just isnt the case, but hey why let common sense get in the way of calling someone a racist.

No.

As to the aside danny, do you think Derbens question...

So, as you think immigration is an unmitigated benefit that is actually the cause of everything positive happening in the country, you would encourage ever more immigration, no controls whatsoever, actively campaign and encourage the entire population of the EU to come here?

...with "everything positive".."no controls whatsoever".."entire population of the EU".. neither being what silvertop wrote or intimated, is worthy of a cap doffing?

A simple yes or no will do.

Thats not the choice though is it. That's resorting to a kind of strawman argument, in which you justify something by presenting the only alternative as an absurd notion (essentially a rhetorical statement, because only very stupid people would believe in no border controls).

The question really about to what extent does immigration benefit the country, and the best balance between the benefits and problems generated.

The sad problem of the UK, is that it often sees only polarised arguments, both of which are equally stupid (ie Free migration or stop all migration or send em all back).

Yes mate I do as he insinuated by his posts (at least I read them that way as well as derban) that he wasn’t a fan of stricter border controls and that mass immigration was the answer to all our woes, at no point did he directly answer points put to him other than to say waffle on about “protectionism”.

Mate this is simply a case of what I read over the thread, and my opinion is that Derban constructed well thought out, well articulated, posts that where dismissed out of hand without actually being answered because his questions were "silly".

Like I say mate from what I read of silvertops posts the inference was definitely there that he was no fan of border controls in fact quite the opposite .

You've read that wrong mate, What I meant was all others have done is, rather than argue your salient points with constructive argument, they have resorted to calling you "Silly".

For what its worth I actually enjoyed reading your posts, and agreed with a large majority of your points.

Even better then! Sorry, I did misread (after all, I am a child apparently). I think it is a major step forward for mankind that you have managed to get JamieMartin to use the word 'problems' in relation to immigration.
