Greens = tax

If you want a high tax economy vote green

Tax = Public Services.

If you want decent services, raise tax.

It's a proven fact low tax economies raise more tax overall.

Is it? Prove it then. Let's see your facts.

Thanks for flagging this article but it doesn't actually support the argument that low tax raises more tax overall. It was just an article answering that that question.

Also it is important to distinguish between direct and indirect tax. The low direct tax is supported by shifting the burden of tax to poorer/ordinary people via higher VAT/indirect Tax. Thatcher and the Cameron both put up Vat while lowering elements of income tax.

I'm admittedly not a fan of the Tories at the best of times. But listening to their weasely spokesperson bang on about the Greens, as though there is any other reason for them snivelling out of the TV debates than that they're terrified their grubby little hands will be prised off their ministerial boxes, is absolutely pathetic.

If the greens have a higher membership, then surely they have more right to be in a leaders debate than UKIP.

If it wasn't this, Cameron would have found another fig leaf to use as an excuse.

It's just the bare-faced LIES which annoy me. Any other job you'd get punished. Politicians just tell outright lies and get away with it.

Sorry but no.
As above, ''Membership and votes are not the same thing''.
In all my years I've only met 1 person who's voted for the Green Party, my best mates brother (lovely fella btw). Personally I believe they need to change the name if they ever want to attract more voters. What do they actually stand for apart from the obvious?
They've missed a trick imo. They should've called themselves UKIP/similar a while ago and then do a complete turnaround should they ever get into power, just like all the others always have/will constantly do. They're a well meaning bunch but the marketing department is beyond dumb.

This^.............is why I stopped voting a long time ago.
Unfortunately it'll never change.

Membership numbers, of any party, are completely irrelevant other than for raising funds.

Why do you think the broadcasters or the other party leaders have a right to demand the PM do anything? He's not obliged to and neither are these debates A) Historical or B) Worthwhile.

What's he going to be punished for? Stating his opinion or terms?

Debates with those who matter to the majority of the electorate are important.
The Greens just don't happen to meet this criteria.
