Didn't he have a sandwich shop or something similar at Penge East Station a few years back ?

yes aintree, was a nice bloke, have you seen the picture on shepherds bush green? lots of the old faces are in it, was just after we came out of the telegraph pub i seem to remember. and think cass did have that sandwich shop in penge, they were a step above i think, we all had some good away days, dont think anyone would touch us on our day, like qpr in quarter final, but the icf had a good turn out most weeks!

Yeah it was opened by his mate, Frank Bruno. It's closed now. There's a plaque on the wall there. Can't believe the plaque is still there. Must be impossible to take off the wall.

The newsagent and convenience store owned by the same Asian bloke/family coin it in along there now. No Supermarket express store nearby so they get all footfall. Decent chippy/kebabage shop there too.

Saw a DVD called 'Hooligans' via Blockbuster a few years ago. Loads of clips & interviews with 2 West Ham, 1 Spurs, 1 Millwall. 1 of the West Ham was 1 of Pennant's 2 closest pals. The other was a Cockney Joe Pesci lookalike. You'll know his face. Anyway, came out with the story of early '80s, train to Norwood Junction. In those days there were 100 or something 12 year olds getting into it. They get off at New Cross Gate. Millwall are ready for them. He didn't say where but it'd have to be at the pub outside on the fork or the one down the slope on the right. Millwall were tooled up and he and his mate got chased by 1 with an axe onto a bus or something. I think the axe went into 1 head properly. Some E London kids got badly hurt that day. Then the teams met again when Millwall got relegated in '90.

thats same thing rudi, but they wernt 12 year olds, the reason you have that in your memory is cos they were a mob at west ham called the under fives, there were hundreds of them and they were younger than most of the icf but stil a good firm, we met them at east croydon one saturday when we were playing brighton at home, during a scuffle in george st one of ours shouted you brighton c,,,s, and the guy he had on ground said were west ham, come to see wot all the fuss is about! well we all stopped scuffling and the west ham lads teamed up with us in croydon, was always lots of bha walking about and we did bump into them!

Yes mate what a day that was.
One the best mobs we ever had that day.
That mob after the game would have took some shifting.
Chelsea played spurs in the other quarter final that day a Stamford bridge and there was more trouble at qpr.
Can you imagine that today ,two London derby quarter finals played in west london at the same time on the same day.
Beggars belief that they suffered it then.

lol, suprised we didnt go on to fulham broadway after, would have been untouchable together, i got chucked out of the game at very beginning and about 10 qpr faces were waiting by gate, they must have been banned and they were straight on me, chased me down a long alley where there were another ten sitting down at end, shouting for them to stop me, the other ten sitting down pretended they couldnt make out wot my chasing pack were howling and let me run thru them, i would have been lynched! it was top boys chasing me, nasty guys from ladbroke grove, ones written a book since, used to wear those deerstalker hats, i went straight back to ground and sneaked into qpr end seats, was behind palace guy in sheepskin waving the fans on to pitch, think he was called pat t!
