If anyone walks out of that 'mafia' state with a fistful of dollars/pounds whatever....Then you know that they are corrupt. Anyone with half a brain knows that, and I think you know it too Chelski. It's not an attack on Chelsea the football club, it's just a statement of reality on where the money that funds it comes from.

Chelski, You haven't - you've taken me too literally, however by coming on here you are inferring your superiority and as such belittling us - no one likes that do they? I have lived in Azerbaijan for 15 years - I know how the system worked - injustice doesn't come close. Parish has an advertising agency,Long sold insurance, Hosking is a highly intelligent city trader and Browett used to drive a van for a wine merchant and basically now sells wine. None of them have ever had anyone imprisoned because they are an unelected Governor of a State that is part of a federation who endorse the murder of people by exposing opponents to that regime to unhealthy doses of radiation.
For information: Additionally, Abromovich funded various charitable activities in the russian region he was governor for. In the period 2000–2006 the average salaries in Chukotka increased from about US$165 (€117/£100) per month in 2000 to US$826 (€588/£500) per month in 2006.[18][39] The regional government estimates that, during his tenure, Abramovich directed investments in the range of $2.5 billion to rebuild Chukotka's crumbling housing, schools, hospitals and infrastructure, much of the money coming from his own pocket and through affiliated companies and his two foundations – Pole of Hope and Territoria Not all bad then!!!!

They cannot afford to waste time on youngsters, that's our job.
Correct me if im wrong but isnt the only player to come through your academy in past 10 years thats gone on to be a proven player is JT? Mceachran and Bertrand obviously have the talent to succeed but atm dont think can be classed as a very good product yet. Im not saying chelseas academy isnt good but just saying that the reason it may not get the credit it deserves because lately it hasnt really produced anyone of note? Also on a note to what you were saying about profit. Doesnt your profit include the winnings from the champions league? Listed academy products earlier, but Jack Cork (Southampton) and Carlton Cole (West Ham). However accepted it could have been better BUT as I stated the players coming through now are beginning to show great promise and in large numbers (check our players on loan) In terms of profit.Yes in those figures they incluse the Champions League TV money BUT they dont include the massive increase in sales of merchandise and the projected increased revenues from sponsors and companies. Additonally the increased TV revenue will ofset loses from Champions League early exit.
Yeah good shout with the sponsorship/merchandise etc, hadnt taken that into account. Be interested to see how the books balance with the increase in transfer spend/wages and losses of champs league money compared to the money you get in like you say with sponsorship/TV etc. McEachran (middlesborough), Michael Mancienne (sold to Hamburg)as well. Yes its true, as I have stated earlier, that our academy during the early 2000 era didnt produce top players anywhere near as much as it should. However, any in-depth analysis of our academy products coming through now will indicate that there is an abundance of great english talent. Last season we won the U15 premier league tournament, U16 Premier League Tournament and won the FA Youth Cup with predominately English Players. We have a great deal of players representing England (although to be fair that has not historically been a good indication of success) Edited by chelski (15 Feb 2013 11.59am)

Once again too literal. Show me a government official in Russia and I will show you someone who accepts bribes. It is illegal in Russia, however that is the way it works. He was a Governor of a state in Russia, part of the federation, so part of that regime. I am sure that he had no idea of the Millenium Hotel debacle, is a very nice man etc, however the way in which State Companies were turned over from 1991 onwards was not legal in Russia - let alone here, however he was in the gang that won as it were and so has got to keep what he was able to take. Do not be naive to think anything otherwise. There is vast poverty in Russia - vast, yet he has spent millions on a football club in England effectively at their expense. Think on that. Look, you baited re 5-1, I nibbled, I've come back with the validity on which your club was bought to which you start implying that our owners are a sinister bunch. Living where I do, it would be of no surprise to me (well it would and I'd s*** myself) if I got a knock on my door from the Ministry of Interior here asking me not to cast dispersions on one of Azerbaijan's good friends. However that is the way it is here and that is the way of Russia. Continuing in this fashion is just mud slinging and it isn't even about anything really to do with you winning 5-1 on Monday is it? - not the bit about our dodgy owners and radioactivity anyway.

Blimey this thread is a little strange. It's a bit like a Man Utd fan going onto an Oldham fan site and bragging at how good they are!.... Pointless!! I don't mind Chelsea to much. If anything I don't look at them, Man Utd, Man City as I do other clubs. They are in there own world, a world that us and 95% of all other clubs will never be in. In a way it doesn't seem real. I have worked at Chelsea before and prior to the match you get countless people in Chelsea shirts and scarves asking you for directions to a certain stand. Chinese, Japanese, yanks, russians, poles, spanish and many other nationalities. It all seems a bit plastic and souless. Being brought up near Sutton I have alot of mates who are Chelsea fans. They can't go to the games as they can't afford it. Football and the money side of things is out of control and Chelsea must accept some blame for this along with others. If you throw enough money at something then eventually it will work. If anything I respect Man Utd more than I do Chelsea. Whatever you say about Sir Alex this is a man who has stood head and shoulders above any other manager. For over 25 years he has built successful sides, moved with the times, spent money but not in the mad way that Chelsea and Man City have. If things havent worked out for a season United have stuck by him and not chopped and changed manager after manager. As for John Terry I will always respect his footballing ability but as a person the man is quite clearly a c***. Chelsea fans defend him to the hilt even though this is a man who uses racist language, sleeps with his friends girlfriends behind his wifes back, abuses and throws food whilst drunk at american tourists on the day of the 9/11 attacks and cheats constantly on the mother of his children by chatting up girls and making them sign contracts so they won't go to the papers... The last bit I know for a fact. Nobody is perfect but this clearly is a man who has no morales or standards and certainly not somebody who we should be looking up to. Thank god he isn't the captain of our national team anymore.
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

Chelski, It's all part of the game. You take $1m from people, give back $100K. Look at me, aren't I great? Before you continue spouting more examples of what I have just pointed out, go to these towns - Chukotka etc and see what they are like and then question whether he should be spending whatever it was on Drogba. If he didn't do this by the way, then he wouldn't be allowed to keep what he has - look at Khodokovsky and Yukos

Listen, I dont doubt that there is a lot of poverty, corruption, violence, and intimidation in this town and many others in Russia. All I am saying is that you cant just say Abromovich is responsible for it because he is a businessman without any evidence.

Oh I actually didn't think you'd choose this tack. You're in denial or just don't care. Maybe it's both. The evidence is there and in bundles all related in lawyer documents on what went on after democracy. What was state controlled was given over in huge corrupt deals to the 'chosen'. It's a shame that anyone who tries to expose anything important in Russia is murdered or framed and jailed......Your boss is in Putin's back pocket....But you be in denial all you want. It seems that all that matters to you is your silly football club. You're maybe not a rational person to debate with, but then again you proved that when you created this thread. Still, I wanted to answer your bragging about Chelsea. A club that, outside of its own fans, no one with any ethics really respects anymore....Unless they are ignorant of course.
