Look! Eddie Howe is probably our best choice. You look at other managers that are without a job or have supposedly applied for the job and look what they've done compared to him

Darren Ferguson - done a half decent job at Posh then got sacked for some unknown reason. Then went to PNE, had the choice of all Man Utds best young players and he still managed to be bottom of the league

Paulo Sousa - sacked by qpr for being crap, did ok at Swansea but as a swans fan said on here he was a arsehole behind closed doors. And couldn't do much at Leicester despite inheriting a club that in the previous season got to a play-off semi final. He also likes his teams to play like Burley does and look where that's got us!

Gordon Strachen - spent a f*** load of cash at Mcmiddlesbrough and there not much better off than us. Only ever won anything at the Tims when Rangers were brought to there knees by debt.

Phil Brown- got promotion from championship into premiership stayed up narrowly, mainly because of taking the Premiership by surpise in the first 12 games or so ( alla Blackpool) then got sacked whilst taking Hull down in a dire financial situation.

Mark McGhee - the less said about him the bettter!

Keith Hill- if you don't want Eddie Howe then you won't want him.

Chris Hughton - if I was given Newcastle to manage I could have won the league with those players.

There isn't a manager around who has had the restraints that Eddie Howe has that has been as successful as him, at a so called lesser club than palace

posible scenario - he's accepted in principle, tipped a couple of mates to make some easy money on the bookies, they've laid some heavy bets on and bettings suspended, but no official announcenment till tomorrow when he signs a contract?

disclaimer: all of the above may not be true but it's fun speculating
