I hope that Mr Barnier and the EU takes a hard line over the article 50 extension. From their viewpoint the UK and specifically Mrs May has mucked them about for 2 years so why should they be nice to her now. The EU will rightly argue what is the point? Mrs May is like Mr Mawcawber hopihg that something will turn up. So unless Parliament passes her dreadful bill this week they should say no in the interests of the EU. After all they have bigger problems to worry about such as the EU economy and the up coming European elections. Of course this could all be a cunning plan by Mrs May to run down the clock, she may be thinking of her legacy and her promise to the electorate to take us out and faced with a Remain parliament this is her answer. If the EU do say no or set unacceptable terms that means by default we leave on 29 March under WTO rules. So everybody wins....... Edited by Badger11 (20 Mar 2019 7.26am) And they haven't mucked about? Doubt they could be nice to anyone.

For most the issue is not that chicken has to be washed in chlorine. It is the reasons why that is necessary. Low quality supply chain It will be cheap. We will walk into poorer standards.

I don't imagine that American food standards for chicken are any worse than ours which are pretty poor and driven by the public's demand for cheap chicken at any price. Interesting article here [Link]

You can't force meat on consumers any more. Chlorinated chicken, yuk.... Follow Max Meyer, Lewis Hamilton etc. and be healthier without meat. If your product looks good and tastes good without being a dead animal you will be healthier. The consumer will choose not to eat it, it is really that simple.

We are a European country but we need to move closer to the US. The US was born from these shores anyway. We have seen how the EU have treated us. We have also seen the anti Americanism in the EU and indeed from various actors on Hol. They are the minority and I don't see why we can't have trade deals with both.....of the two it's the EU who are acting like authoritarians....and we know why....they aren't that popular in their origin countries and their institutions hang in the balance.
