He also didn't agree with companies and organisations who asked him to be their voice or spokesperson on the subject of race when they don't actually care and are using his name for lip service. So what I wrote basically. The reference to whites was purely because of reactions by black people to questioning the reason behind kneeling. Something you have done yourself. I didnt mean he took it upon himself to help whites get an opinion out there which may offend wokes.

I find it interesting though that taking the knee has actually had an adverse effect. Since this started it has stoked feelings which had been pretty much laid dormant. Get rid of it. It’s setting back race relations, not improving them. making the cops look like clowns, as they took the knee. priceless

This charade has reached new levels of dumbarsery. Wilf says taking the knee is degrading. Really Wilf? Sky Sports reporting that online racial abuse is being normalized. How stupid or cynical can this get? Are we really to believe that those behind Sky are not fully aware that publicizing every incidence of abuse was always going to make it much worse than the almost non existent level it was before they started all this tedious crap? Now footballers will try to extract themselves from this farce a few at a time claiming that it isn't working or just insert any other face saving excuse you prefer. Hello! Anyone with half a brain could have told you where this was heading. I suppose that excludes 99% of footballers.

Nothing changes until social media companies take proper control of their operations and properly identify and punish those faceless, cowardly keyboard warriors spitting their racist poison - don't hold your breath on that one, too much money involved !

I was totally unaware of any significant racism related to football since the '80s other than the usual knuckleheads at Millwall, the usual Sectarian stuff in Scotland and the occasional visit to an Eastern European county where most have rarely seen a Black man. Where was this big problem before the media and Sky in particular, started their ridiculous campaign?

Edited by Stirlingsays (15 Feb 2021 9.46pm) A clown world indeed. Just because you say it, doesn't make it true. Just because you believe it, doesn't make it true. Just because you appear happy to be deranged, doesn't excuse your extremist postings. My son is a police officer (and Palace season ticket holder) and your depiction of him and apparently all serving officers, is offensive. But.......that's why you say these things. It's for the attention. Your user name gives the game away. Anyone that ends their name with "says" is either arrogant or attention seeking or probably both. I use HOL to feed my Palace addiction. You use it in a sad attempt to try and be noticed and be "someone". You usually stick to News and Politics section where there are some others like you. I know I shouldn't bite because it's what you want. But if people don't call you out, it may be assumed that all HOL members share your extremist views. You must lead a really sad and unfulfilling real life to be so desperate to be noticed on a Palace fans forum. Particularly, when you rarely seem to post about Palace or football. I don't know if you have an employer but I bet they would not want to be associated with your views. Why don't you tell us who they are and if they filter out people that you consider to be undesirables? I support Wilf and his views. I have been in favour of taking a knee but can see that the gesture is now losing it's impact. Hopefully Wilf's stance will be part of moving the fight against racism forward in a collaborative way. There is clearly still work to be done!
