If Parish is serious about Pellegrino then has to act quickly - the fact that Marco Silva was his intended target but got snapped up by Watford should serve as a lesson in what happens if you dither over these things...... .........plus I've got a tenner on Pellegrino @ 18/1 and want the winnings by the weekend.

Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

I don't think Pellegrino is as 'hot' a property as Silva and there's probably a bit more time. I am sure he will make the short list and will be interviewed. Parish is right to look at all possible candidates and take the time he needs to do this. We need a manager to take Palace consistently to the next level - ie top10 finishes and regular decent cup runs. We need a manager who will take the time to build the club's infrastructure, develop the youth team, etc, and who will be prepared to stay around for 3-5 years. The nerxt manager doesnt have to be 'the special one' but he does have to be quite special!

'Following Sam Allardyce's sudden departure, chairman Steve Parish was keen to persuade former Hull manager Marco Silva to join the club, only for negotiations to have reached an advanced stage with Watford.' Sky Sports Yes, only Sky speculation, granted, but they usually only go with verified sources. I said 'if' Parish is keen on Pellegrino he should act quickly - which i stand by. The speed in which Silva was snapped up and the paucity of other credible candidates (IMO) means he should get his skates on if he thinks he has the right man.

As my gran used to say, "if ifs and ands were pots and pans, where would tinkers be?". Judging by this forum, they would be out of work.

I doubt whether Pellegrino will sign on the dotted line without sounding out what other options might be open to him as he would be daft to do so

Would rather take a risk with this guy than appoint some of the other names in the frame. Yes it is a risk but sometimes you have to speculate to accumulate. Even more of a bonus if he keeps Sammy Lee who for me was the driving force behind our survival.
