QT Review: Brand: Embarrassing performance, completely crumbled and actually looked close to tears when asked for some actual content to his arguments. Resorted to reading a point off a card at one point, it would have been painful viewing if it wasn't so hilarious watching him drown; he was that far out of his depth. Labour Woman: Basically a party political machine constantly slating the government, despite having denounced said approach in answer to the first question on why voters switched off when it came to politics. Same old. Conservative Woman: See above. Sunday Times Columnist, Camilla something: The only person that really tried to answer the question and actually made some good points regarding the 'privatisation of the NHS' and apathy towards MPs. Farage: This really was playground stuff for him, all he had to do was sit there and trot on about the same stuff he already has before. Actually looked mildly irritated (understandably) at some of the completely ludicrous points being made by both panel and audience. Which brings me onto... Audience: Where on earth do they find these f*ckwits? Do these people simply turn up to moan? They banged on about how they hated Punch and Judy politics, missing the irony that they were on Question Time and had applied to be there. They also banged on about how they hated the fact that MPs shout at each other in Parliament, then proceeded to shout at both the panel and even each other, clearly thinking that the viewers at home actually give a flying f*ck what they have to say. Overall, it was a damning indictment of our political landscape, the politicians who were in power came across as robots who couldn't say anything other than what their masters had told them and Brand the 'radical' got outed as the numpty he really is (the only positive to come out of the whole thing), whilst the audience made our general public out to be infinitely stupid (which I hate to think is a fair reflection of our society but probably is... It's no wonder people will vote for Farage, and I'm quite worried.

Haha well I am glad that you agreed with what I said because I tried my best to be objective when watching, especially with Brand. The fact we've both nailed some key points just goes to show that the program was about ratings rather than discussing the key issues. Dimbley must have wondered WTF happened out there as he looked a bit overwhelmed in certain parts. Apparently, when the woman who talked about immigration was hanging a slinging match with the purple haired bint, he was head in hands off camera haha. That said, if it gets more people to take an interest in politics then it must be a good thing, but I can't help but feel it somewhat dumbed it down a bit particularly with the name calling and digs about backgrounds. Favourite moment for me was when the Labour woman took a shot at Farage saying he was a career politician and he just destroyed her by saying he had worked 20 years in the private sector, unlike her and the others haha. It goes back to my point, that trying to discredit him will just achieve the exact opposite!

Mary Creagh (the Labour MP) was coherent and well spoken. People aren't going to agree with everything she said but she was comfortably the best performer. Brand made the only remark anyone will remember in a week's time calling Farage a "Poundshohp Enoch Powell" which was a brilliant one-liner he has probably rehearsed and thought about for a couple of weeks. Everything else was a bit of a farce.

The only thing she got right was admitting labour ballsed up the immigration.

Oh you're serious? Absolutely. It was a terrible episode of QT - which is a recurring theme unfortunately. Pretty much everyone came out of it badly. She came out least badly, which is an achievement in the sort of environment it was. She is actually a very good spokesperson for the Labour party and I suspect you will see her being wheeled out more and more for prominent public events/debates.

The best was the Sunday Times journalist who made good sense closely followed by Farage who kept his cool and remained coherent making sensible points and actually answering the questions...... all that despite some "class war" moron with blue hair in the audience calling him racist scum and threatening him with "I'm coming for you!" Sadly that is all these type of people have to offer - threats of violence if they don't get their way. She should have been thrown out. As for Brand, he had obviously rehearsed a few put downs, but what else would you expect from a comedian?

Everything else was a bit of a farce. Now I know you are baiting us all.....she was full of waffle as was the Tory on the panel. As for "The Comedian" which he is as nothing he said was sensible just things on his prompt card and was shot down on most occasions last night. The only one that made any sense at all was the Sunday Times journalist who had valid points and answered the questions in a positive and sensible way. She did know what she was talking about. As for the audience well as normal was hand picked by the BBC but let the stupid woman at the back in when she should have been outed by the security staff......what a knob she turned out to be. Even David Dimwit had met his match last night and lost the plot. It had to be the worst QT I have watched in years for content and valid Q&A. It was diabolical to say the least. Lets hope that Russell Brand crawls away into a corner and does not come out......what a waste of space!
Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |

Lets hope that Russell Brand crawls away into a corner and does not come out......what a waste of space! Nope not baiting. MPs are never on a winner in QT because they have to tow party lines and respond in ways that makes everything the other party/parties fault. Journalists and comedians are allowed to say whatever they want/believe and so always seem better. Mary Creagh was in my opinion the best performer given her remit. I actually thought Farage did ok, but like I said the only thing anyone will remember that was said was the Poundshop Enoch Powell line. The rest of the panel's comments will be forgotten in a week (if they haven't already). But I do agree it was a woeful QT. Edited by OknotOK (12 Dec 2014 11.09am)
