Should have been further amended to add 90 days to March.

MPs vote to delay Brexit beyond 29 March. Haven't the EU said we have to pay a billion a month?.....probably just fake news.

I don't have an issue with the indicative vote because it is based on the assumption that Mrs May's deal is approved by Parliament. Not that I want that deal but it is meaningless otherwise. I don't believe the EU will object for a couple of months delays as they are the major benefactors but if they did I hope May would finally realise we should leave the end of this month without a deal. The media are now reporting movement from the ERG so it is possible that she will win the day, god help us.

I loathe Tony Blair but a majority of the public supported the Iraq War at the time, and it's been interesting to watch the process of people forgetting their support and adjusting further to a 'throw him in jail' mindset. "But more than 10 years of opposition is a long time, and many people now remember things differently. Now only 37% of the public say they believed military action against Saddam Hussein was right at the time, instead of the 54% recorded at the time" - [Link] Peoples attitude is as much about their politics really, rather than some kind of impartial view of the Iraq War. I am pleased that we're in a period of war fatigue though. In fact, I'd say most conflicts our troops have been sent to have been more about doing someone elses dirty work or enriching corporations rather than keeping anyone safe. We helped royally f*** up parts of the middle east and Blair and support for the war certainly played a part in that. The retrofit comes a bit late for the war dead, both soldiers and civilians.

I don't think getting an Article 50 extension will be as much of a formality as we think it will. What further embarrassment will May and co drag us through to get it, I wonder? They know she doesn't want a No Deal else none of this nonsense in parliament would be happening, so expect them to turn the screw while she's sucking on her cough drops.

Also most wars and conflicts have propagandised aspects to them because if people seriously considered what was happening or the motivations behind it or who benefits, they would likely be more much hesitant to support it. It was for the people at the time to see the bullsh!t for what it was. If they could not, part of the responsibility is on them, not just the propogandists. There are rare occasions where war is necessary, then there's doing other peoples dirty work and trusting the government as you wave off a family member to God knows where.
