Looks like it is going to be Nuno looking at betting. Not quite sure how i feel about this. He did well overall but Wolves were slipping badly towards the end admittedly partly due to injuries. The signing of Fabio Silva does not look a great move either. On other hand he is experienced and comes across well in press conferences.

Interesting. I imagine there's a good way to go yet though. Tbh I'd rather we take our time and get the right appointment... if we've not confirmed anyone after 2 more weeks then I'll start to worry!

Cheers Spider, seems all the other 'click-bait' sites are covering The Telegraph's story, which possibly be why betting has been suspended.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Rumour has it all betting suspended. I'm not a betting man so can those of you who are confirm whether that rumour is true or not. If true then presumably an announcement is thought to be imminent. betting is suspended - apart from a few bookies - you can't be too certain - Dan Petrescu was once 1-10 to be Palace boss and it didn't happen, but Nuno has been chalked off from every board apart from Betfair who do bookies' odds AND exchange betting - with Betfair's bookies you get 1-5 and the best exchange odds you can get is 4-11 - for the Everton job Nuno is now between Evens and 6-1. And btw nobody's been backing Eddie Howe despite any market moves, it's all smoke and mirrors - the odds really change when something genuinely happens, once the bookies get wind of that they stop betting - and that is what has just happened. This plus the Telegraph story does not mean Nuno will be our manager, but I would say we can all now expect him to be, it is now more probable than possible. So premature congratulations to Steve Parrish, that most daring of Eagles. No news is Nuno's, whatever that means. COYP!!!!!

I will be delighted if we get Nuno in. Perfect man to get the best out of Benteke as well.

Telegraph sports writer saying Nuno deal is nearly done. Would be nice to get it wrapped up to fill the football void until the euros start on Friday. 2 days to listen to Nuno share his vision then get stuck into international games on the telly. Ideal

I'd be thrilled at Nuno's appointment. He's exactly the right person for us. Let's face it, with all the changes this year, we need someone who can keep us up, then start building for the future. I know I may be in the minority, but 17th for me this year would be an acceptable finish. We just have to give whoever is appointed time to build. Our relative lack of spending the past 3-4 years has caught up with us. Nuno will get the most out of what we have and looks to be good at getting young guns in for the future. Fingers crossed.

Lots of discussion about whether the incumbent manager wil be provided with a "war chest" or a decent transfer budget. Let's bloody well hope they do get such a transfer budget, because from what I can see we have one "full time" RB who has yet to record an appearance for us, one LB (and Jeffrey Schlupp who can play there in a pinch), Martin Kelly and James Tomkins for Centre Back (and Jaroslaw jach, but he has no experience). We need to invest, whoever comes in, or we are doomed.
