He could be set for us, but you can't read any certainty into the odds.

There is less risk with some of the outdated/dinosaur/not good enough British managers in as much as you know what you are going to get - bland football and a relegation scrap, uninspiring signings. I would rather we tried to push the club forward than sideways and accept that it might not work out. If it's not working, it's not like we don't have a habit of giving managers the elbow and a new man can get on the carousel

Heard from a very good source this is a "goer". Worked with Sammy Lee at Liverpool, resigned from Alaves just yesterday. Has to be. No you haven't. You just read on the other thread that the odds have shortened after reading the sun article.

Pellegrino was at 25/1 last night, stuck on a cheeky £16 and pleased to see he's now as low as 3/1, has to be something in this one odds are absolutely tumbling!

When a name pops up 'Out of the blue' and there is rampant speculation, people part with their money and the odds reflect the betting patterns.

If we don't try and do that we'll be forever in the bottom third spending every penny standing still. A measure of success makes it easier to sign/retain better players and managers and, if it doesn't work, we'll be in the bottom third, but having at least tried.

We might as well have Pardew back according to that logic as he guided us to the cup final and a creditable 10th place in a much tougher league

I wouldn't be surprised if there's something in this Pellegrino thing, someone obviously knows something. I'm not convinced we are interested in Monk or Hodgson as I think something would have happened by now and don't really want either of those anyway so why not try a different approach.

Odds change every day according the the 'hotness' of rumours - yesterday Monk was odds on. In his recent interview Parish made clear he is looking for a match between the clubs preferred pattern of play, management style (analytics etc) and the new manager's capacity to deliver it. I dont know what Pellegrino's management style is like and whether that matches? Personally, my punters favorite (for me) is Jokanovic
