It's being reported that they want £33 million, a year ago they paid around £32 million, he didn't set the prem on fire but aged 25 still has huge potential. We all knew that prices would dramatically rise this season due to TV money and this is proof. But how much is he actually worth, how much would Liverpool value him at if he had done well and how much is added on to his price because of TV money? Personally think we should bite the bullet, pay the money and get him in. He scores goals and thats what we lack. Even if it means staying up another season finacially its worth every penny.

Not only this but I'm sure if a foreign club came in and offered what we have they would probably consider it. Not only has the tv money inflated the prices but with all prem teams having big budgets I'm sure clubs will want to make it as hard as possible for league rivals to strengthen. The same with berahino, not much between us and west brom so they won't want to lose their best player to us. If they do then they will want heavily compensated.

Moron I haven't heard that the deal is off so he may still be right, although his post doesn't instill you with much confidence given that he had so much in depth knowledge of the situation. Patience still is a virtue!

Patience still is a virtue! True, but if it does come off he certainly didn't know anything about it- just a lucky guess!

Not sure if this is significant but the 4/9 odds with Skysports has now gone and best price on Palace been Benteke's next club is now 2/5.

Surely there must be a conclusion to this deal in the next 2 weeks. The team that plays valencia should be near enough the team that faces wba a week later.

This is Crystal palace this will drag on until 31st of august. I would like us to sign a creative midfielder as well to supply a benteke or Dzeko.
