The Club are applying as much charm as they can, but available managers have several options and probably several offers. The final decision is probably not in our hands. Spot on. Quite why so many people are struggling with this is beyond me. If the club wanted an appointment made quickly then it's easy - they just need to settle for a manager who is not as good as one they might have been able to get if they'd been patient. Right now, with pre-season a long way off and a DoF to handle transfers (which by the way, is another area where we have no choice but to wait and see if our preferred targets get better offers or not), we are still much better off with no manager in place than with the wrong one. The flipside of course is that the time will come when we are better off with our second or third choice than with nobody. To use an admittedly crass analogy, it's like trying to pull in a nightclub. My only disagreement with some on here is that I think the night is still (quite) young.

Although it will unlikely come out until such time that Parish writes his inevitable autobiography, what I would be interested to know is what his thinking is. It was the worst kept secret that Roy would leave long before he announced it, so back when he first knew, did he have someone in mind or did he decide to wait and see who would be available. He has spoken in the past about how he doesn't generally make decisions based on interviews - a mistake he said he made with FdB after he was won over by his interview - so he clearly must have at least a few people in mind. I'm in agreement with others in that I think Nuno leaving Wolves threw a spanner in the works; if Nuno's agent gave an indication that his client might be interested then to use TheBigToePunt's analogy Steve may be willing to hang around until last orders to get the most attractive option. And then we'll end up with Allardyce at the last minute. As to people getting antsy (myself included) that's really just a sign of the times. Access to so much information of such little value can make an hour feel like a week when you're waiting to hear about these kind of things.

I don't think the metaphor can be extended too far, bcos if you wait too long the beer goggles kick in and you end up with Phil Brown or Chris Coleman. I don't want to overdo my John McCririck impersonation but Nuno's come back down in the betting, joint favs with Cooperman and his odds are easing slightly for the toffees job. I would say he fluttered his eye lids at us, stuck his nose in the air when he caught us looking, and now we're getting a bit of leg/cleavage. If he drops his knickers but we don't provide an adequate transfer kitty it will be brewers'droop or a lack of tackle so to speak.

I suspect for those who want Nuno, the lack of updates may well be a positive sign. The major difference between us and Everton is that if Everton are hiring him, they don’t have to wait for any other clubs, and perhaps they’d even have done it by now.

That's my feeling so he is probably not their no 1 target. According to the Telegraph we will announce Nuno later this week.

Nuno is certainly a more exciting pick than Cooper.

I think with Nuno it will depend on quite a few factors. The first does he want to build a team or inherit previous managers squad. I think he will favour former which gives us the Edge Secondly how he feels about the chairman / DOF etc. Everton have sacked quite a few managers but so until Hodgson so had we. Can he understand Doogie We have enough trouble !!! Thirdly the control he has over playing side Everton chairman less likely to interfere than SP. Lastly Money - I could be wrong but while this is important I don't think wages are Nuno's top priority. He will however want a decent transfer chest. The Zaha situation could go for or against us he may be worried about potentially losing our talisman or he may see it as an opportunity to build a side not reliant on one man.

Rumour has it all betting suspended. I'm not a betting man so can those of you who are confirm whether that rumour is true or not. If true then presumably an announcement is thought to be imminent.

Does Marcel Brands still decide who Everton buy? That could be a factor. Also, for some Everton fans Nuno might actually seem like a step down from Ancelotti. Personally I think if we got Nuno it would be a huge sign of intent. If he comes I really doubt he would be agreeing to work on the kind of budget Roy had. Being in London might also work better for his family, which could be another factor. Nuno Espirito's Red and Blue Army!

But he is also a very hot tempered person , i hope he knows where he stands with Sir Steve before and if he comes in and dosent chuck it in at the first argument . My guess and just a guess is that his agent has put it out that his choice is Palace just to force Evertons hand .

Or could it just be that Mrs Nuno would not relocate to Wolverhampton and could be the same thing with Everton but the prospect of London or the Surrey stockbroker belt is much more to her liking.
