This is an interesting take on it. I don’t know how to honestly answer such a question as I have few black friends next to white. I suppose the simple answer is I judge them all the same, but I’m sure someone will find a problem with that answer as they would with your question.

Difficult yes. Although in nature we; humans, appear to be the only species pressured into a type of relationship we may not want to. Personally I get on with anyone of any colour because a dick is a dick no matter what colour they are. Them I dont like.

I have just read that Brentford will stop taking the knee because they feel that the gesture against discrimination no longer has the desired impact, but that they do reiterate support of anti-discrimination projects.

That's a reasonable answer in my view. Treat as you find. I have a some good friends and extended family of other nationalities and races and I don't ever recall entertaining the idea that 'I prefer' my other friends and family due to their race. It would be an absurd thought to hold and beyond reductive as to what it is to even know and appreciate a person. At the same time I appreciate that people have all kinds of biases to one degree or another. As with anything it largely comes down to how you express them and treat others.
