I guess we are on a countdown to Dr Who coming out as 'gay', whatever gender the character is meant to be.

Similar to the ratings, I don't think time will be kind.

I make no secret of my dislike of the BBC so I'm loving it. The more they are criticised for pandering to minority interest groups whilst ignoring the majority the deeper the whole they dig.

This is so like the left, faced with an obvious challenge to their existence instead of moderating their views to mollify people like me they doubled down.

It would be quite simple for the BBC to make some mainstream cultural shows whilst keeping all their other favourites but no they would rather take a mass entertainment show that was developed for kids and turn it into an activist rights show.

Keep it Auntie the days of the licence fee are numbered the word Lemmings spring to mind.

As you know I am not anti BBC (World Service, BBC4, 6Music, masses of top educational shows linked with the OU etc.) and they remain wedged between the Equality Act and the Charter, but it is difficult not to disagree with much of what you say.

This is largely self-inflicted.

Valid points. I made the comment they are digging a hole for themselves, when they should be looking to placate their viewers,
education is one area.

Instead of spending 80m on BBC3 which nobody watches they should have launched a 24 hour education channel which should cover things like the OU, adult literacy and English for non speakers as some examples.

I would not object to spending money on public broadcasting I don't consider Homes Under The Hammer or Strictly as fitting that bill.

To be fair to the BBC with regards to the Tranny in Doctor Who then you have to give them a modicum of respect.

Yes, I loathe them and detest all the woke bollocks but if you want to stick two fingers up at Gammons like me, this is the way to do it.

Always admired an opponent who makes no pretence about despising me and giving zero f***s. A far healthier, for all concerned, approach them trying to make a pretence of us somehow being able to reach a compromise.

The BBC knows it is a dead man walking. And like all such people/organisations, you have to give kudos where it is due if they decide to carry on sticking two fingers up at the people they blame for their demise.

I agree. Why not have their own sports channel, doesn’t have to be up and running all the time but during WC etc it would leave BBC 1 and 2 to those that don’t like sports

I agree but I doubt the BBC thinks it is going to lose the licence. They will wake up (not woke up) when it is too late.

Ditto for me as well

I rarely watch any of the terrestrial channels, BBC, ITV, Channels 4 and 5, these days as the standard of their output is awful.

The BBC & ITV seem to be obsessed with "Celebrity" shows, and, particularly in regard to the BBC, obsessed with whatever they think is the cause of the day, be it racism, climate change, mental health, LBGT, etc.

I am not saying that these are not worthy causes, but ramming them down our throats can end up being counterproductive in the long term.

That's a bit like saying "how many of the anti-nazi brigade have ever worn Hugo Boss aftershave? Or clothing?"

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!
