Does it come down to there being relaxed rules when Starmer had his beers? I remember someone I know claim this when it was first brought up months before it came up the 2nd time with more traction. It’s an error I’m really not bothered about but I understand how people have been in uproar about it due to the family visits they couldn’t make and funerals limited to 10 etc. They should have done what they wanted but there were care homes, hospitals and officials at funerals and cremations stopping people. Some are saying it could be because these cases were reviewed by difference forces....the met and this one Durham. Another claim is that a high up in the Police was at the Starmer party....who knows. However, the difference in treatment for essentially the same behaviour doesn't sit right with me. Edited by Stirlingsays (08 Jul 2022 2.39pm)

According to the rules at ANY time you could take food whilst at work if it was necessary. That is literally all that happened. And, for the avoidance of doubt, after eating Sir Keir went back to work until 1am, long after naughty Ivo Delingpole's bed time. I have said this lots of times but you ignore it, no idea why that may be. Do you write for the Daily Mail?

Well that’s everything. Tests, furlough, loans, vaccines, staff,R andD, help for poorer countries, the extra hospitals The list is virtually infinite but I doubt 47 billion was nicked by borises mates. With that type of spend there is always some erosions or untraceable payments. Tbh it is a lot of dosh but I was ok with it as I’m still here and may not be without my vaccines. I"m quite impressed with your honesty-I thought you would just deny deny deny- but admitting the 15% , you have gone up in my estimations! The question is- would you still be ok with it if it was Dianne Abbotts local pub the money was channeled through- and Sir Keirs gf pet canning company?

Of sorts Defiantly yes but it will take time. We aren’t even over the spend yet as people are still contracting covid and dying in hospitals.

You have childish digs at right wingers you don't like.....which is more than a little pathetic...and then you intimate that it is me who could be writing for a tabloid. Is the heat getting to you old boy? As for the rules....the fact that the restrictions and rules were mostly b0llocks (outside of carehomes and hospitals) isn't something you need to convince me of. However in a crazy environment where there were videos of coppers moving people out of having picnics in parks because they were within six feet of each other.....a video showing Starmer and others very relaxed in close proximity resulting in no action when Johnson and co got fined has cause for considerable question. My entire point was regarding consistency of treatment. Edited by Stirlingsays (08 Jul 2022 4.08pm)

So let's get this right.....Boris and co get fined for attending drinks with work colleagues....with their excuse of saying it was exempt because it was work related being rejected. (which is of course a mealy mouthed get out clause) Yet Starmer and co will not receive any fines over 'Beergate'. because the cops have concluded it was exempt due to being work related. Eh?
