My preference is they give it to somebody who’s hungry and has something to prove rather than a crowd pleasing name who fvcks us about and probably won’t ultimately fancy working within the current structure and budget. That is all hearsay and rumours Rachid x 3. For all we know the new manager has been sorted out a long time ago and just been kept quiet. I for one don’t think it’s going g to be a name that has been mentioned on here,

I think they have someone not on any bookie lists. No-one saw Roy coming ... in fact I think FDB was a surprise as well.

I suspect that the clubs and candidates are playing musical chairs and waiting for the music to stop. We probably want Nuno. Nuno would like the Everton or Spurs job. They might want someone else otherwise why haven't they offered it to Nuno by now. So if Everton get their first pick Nuno may then come to us. Howe wants the Southampton job, Frank and Conte want a club with money are Everton after them? Celtic are still in the mix? Spurs want a miracle worker. Cooper wants the Palace job and will get it if we don't get our first choice. Confused? you will be, it sounds like an episode of the comedy Soap. Edited by Badger11 (08 Jun 2021 7.56am)

I just want us to announce the new manager so they can get on with the mammoth task of sorting out the squad. We’re potentially going to have another dire pre season and drop points at the beginning of the season due to lack of preparation.

Maybe the delay is linked to getting our new guy out of an existing contract? The fact is nobody (outside the decision makers) knows what’s going on and I think like others I’m just gonna try to switch off from it all until an announcement is made - rewatch the documentary and chill. I mean, you know your becoming too obsessed with it all when your avidly reading Dean Windass’s view on who our next manager will be!

Had you not added the last line and mentioned a name, the odds would have altered as a consequence only of your post. Your musical chairs analogy is also my view. The Club are applying as much charm as they can, but available managers have several options and probably several offers. The final decision is probably not in our hands.
