Nonetheless, I am not certain that VAR would have responded any differently had it observed JWP’s behaviour. He is certainly guilty of baiting Wilf, but as far as I am aware I don’t think that that is punishable offense. Happy to be corrected.. VAR wouldn't have been employed for this incident even if it had been available. It wasn't a goal, penalty incident or a straight red card.

Nope, not a punishable offence, and one which we will see in every future game that Wilf plays. He's got to sort himself out or else for all his skill, opponents are simply going to goad him out of the game from now on.

I dont think the 10,000 fine and a one match ban is too bad , i would imagine that he would get at least a fine of 1 weeks wages also as every player in the world knows you cant get away with that on the pitch , it was pure petulance . hopefully he will learn from this and concentrate on his strengths and run rings around the likes of that little t*** jwp. hopefully , if we dont win against wet spam because of his absence the 3 points wont be the cause of us getting relegated . Agree the punishment is not as bad as it could've been but that's because he IS playing against West ham and sitting the Doncaster game out, as the FA have clearly allowed. If they'd wanted to be particularly harsh they'd have timed the hearing and appeal period such that he unavoidably missed that game, which he almost certainly prefers to play in. He'll hopefully be rejuvenated after his enforced rest.

I hope, but somehow doubt it, that the people looking at referees' performances, had a look at this one. After all, there were a few serious things which shouldn't have been missed, including what amounted to an assault on Tompkins at a corner, which would have won applause at American Football! I'm not excusing Wilf, but can understand his frustration, on occasions. He'd do well to see how Townsend plays the game, including the occasions he gets kicked too. If Townsend would have jumped in the air, screamed and rolled around for a while - he may have just got Stephens sent off for that terrible challenge. Unfortunately he just got on with it, which enabled the ref to let it go. Refs seem to react more to theatrical antics more than the actual challenges.

Hopefully Zaha has learnt now that this is a hard, unjust world and he must imitate Hazard to accept I would just say that our captain needs to take him in hand as Jedinak would have done. The injustices include:

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle This post has been merged from a topic called 'Wilf Ban' by Midlands Eagle They are appealing against this. Complete joke really the club showing again why Wilf has such an attitude they nanny him too much. How any one can have the cheek to appeal that is shocking.

He has to take the kicks and get on with it. The other players will learn it doesn’t achieve the desired results. Pros: multi millionaire world class footballer who will leave the game very rich and enjoy a great life with his family. Cons: getting kicked and wound up by little rats like JWP - and NOT reacting.
Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha. |

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle This post has been merged from a topic called 'Wilf Ban' by Midlands Eagle Good to hear Wilf getting some sympathy from Motty on the H&J TalkSport show. Felt Southampton were cynically targeting him and that he got no protection from the ref. His conclusion was that the one match ban was harsh, and that’s from a neutral perspective.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle This post has been merged from a topic called 'Wilf Ban' by Midlands Eagle I think CPFC and Wilf should just accept the ban, and make a note in the diary next season to snap that c*** JWP. We are being too precious about the injustice when all that's required is retribution.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle This post has been merged from a topic called 'Wilf Ban' by Midlands Eagle Sick of reading the s*** about how Wilf needs to sort himself out. Sort out what exactly? He moans, hardly a crime. Last sent off seven years ago, so it's hardly a temper that's been hindering him. He cracked after an incompetent ref completed his ridiculous nights work by booking him. He was fouled, threatened with a ball in the face and then grabbed round the neck and the ref booked him. Not surprised he cracked, but as I said, hardly a weekly occurance.
