We've been blessed with some very good goalkeepers over the years and I wouldn't say Hennessey is one of them. Also think we should have upgraded on him in the summer. However even if Wayne Hennessey had stopped every shot he faced this season we would still only be on 7 points. Unfair imo the way he is often singled out, this mess runs far deeper than a bang average keeper.

It's gone way beyond moaning about Hennessey now, but since I'm here. He's mediocre at best, though he's had some good performances, some people on here are a bit harsh on him but he's a keeper, if a goal goes in it's always ultimately the keepers fault, the "he couldn't do anything about it" argument doesn't wash with me but the Hennessey Mafia on here really wind me up, he can't seem to do anything wrong and they seemingly wouldn't change him for the world's greatest goalkeeper if we had the chance. They are clinically insane I think, either that or Wayne's dad has multiple accounts.

He's a poor keeper that's currently playing behind a poor team. The outfield players will improve this season, I'm sure they will. He will still be a weak, bottle job keeper that doesn't command his box , or know when to stay on his line or come out.

It is very convenient to hsve a scapegoat in times like these and lots on here are more than happy to pick on Wayne whereas the boring truth is that the whole team is playing badly. Today it looked like Roy had a plan but the team from top to bottom just doesn't seem to have the right mix of skills and more recently confidence to execute it. Wayne was not at fault for the goals todsy every single player was. We are it seems going down with a whimper and thats the hardest thing to take.

picking on wayne is like picking on the fat ginger kid at school its for the uneducated simpletons to know little about football or standards in general, which explains why certain posters continually target him.

But think most of the rest are playing under par, Hennessey is playing at the level he always has for us ,which has never been very good.

Never had too bad a word to say on here against any Palace player until today, in fact I usually stick up for them but maybe our current state has tipped me over the upper tier. Week in week out your darling Wayne has been at fault for goal after goal. Yes the defence has, to put it mildly, been pretty s***e, but seriously if you and your educated and not too simple knowledge of all things wise and wonderful can't see this guy is nowhere near prem standard then you don't get my vote for the next goalkeeping coach. He doesn't command the box at all and his positioning is awful, comes rushing out when he shouldn't and doesn't when he should.. and his confidence is clearly shot. Jules even at his ripe old age is a far better option. And while we're on the subject oh great one.. Ward, Cabaye, Puncheon, Kelly, Mutch, Lee and Sako are Championship at best. Don't even mention Parish. Just my opinion of course
If I agreed with you we'd both be wrong |

He is beyond useless and it is funny to see some try to defend him as he does nothing to defend himself with his poor play and inability at any point to make an important save. Yes his defenders have been poor but many would with him as the last line of defence. No way a single Palace player can have any confidence in his ability to help them get a point let alone a win.

Just my opinion of course cabaye & ward championship standard...behave, wards short on confidence, like wayne but cabayes quality and its insulting to suggest cabaye is anything other. let me ask you a question...why was nobody slating hennesssy during the last third of the season? answer...because its easy to blame the keeper when the defence isnt performing
