I would tell the French pay for your own security, as for asylum seekers I would tell the French do your job properly. These people should be told to claim asylum in France or be deported back to their country of origin.

It's the UK border not French The only reason we have a UK border based in France is because the French won't do their job properly. Having suckered us in to agreeing this they then stick us with the bill. The alternate being that the French would turn a blind eye to goings on in their own country. Quite disgraceful really expecting us to sort out their problems. Can you imagine unofficial migrant camps in the UK? There would be an uproar from the left and the right for different reasons. France is not some poor country trying to cope with an influx of war refugees. Even the BBC said that claiming asylum in France was notoriously difficult.

Refugee crisis is everyone's problem, not just the French, it's only cos they happen to be there. It's because of your such attitudes of just ignoring the problem and leaving it to others to sort out is the reason we have this situation I'm sure if loads of foreigners wanted to leave UK and tried desperately to get to France you would happily let them, so it works both ways
