According to journalist Alan Nixon on BRFCS forum, Burnley have spoke to Howe and offered him greater figures than any either Palace or Charlton and that his agent has done a fine job of basically pimping the services of Howe about to all these clubs

thats what some guy just posted on the howe blog

Meridian news said Eddie Howe has rejected Palace and is now likely to go to Charlton

Pretty sure thats old news from today. Things have developed significantly since then, in that we have a new offer on the table for Howe.

Stupid to say that about are squad ! When all fit and available we have one of the better squads on paper and one of the best youth teams !

I'm afraid this is simply not true. We have a squad with good potential and an excellent youth team but we have a terrible defensive record, no senior defensive midfielder, not (quite) enough experience at this level and the squad size is also relatively small. I only think we are 2 or 3 players away from a good, competitive championship squad. At the moment we have some good individuals and one or two excellent players but are in need of recruits.

So surely if Howe had any believe in his ability, he would be fairly confident in the squad and keeping us up if it only requires 2/3 players.

Exactly yes, it shouldn't put him off. The challenge would excite me if I were a manager. If it doesn't then we should give it to the man who will certainly put all his heart and soul into if: DF.

Concerned that DF will be in charge for Saturdays game. Not necessarily regarding the protracted and dull EH story but the lack of time available in the transfer window. New squad signings are just as important as signing a new manager right now. If SP is telling us on Monday that DF will be in charge for Saturday I think that tells us all we want/need to know. CPFC2010 should be looking to appoint someone suitable asap. Why are we waiting a further week? The timing of all this is a real problem. Could leave us 2 weeks to find, agree terms and sign the right players. Thats madness.

CPFC2010 please get this management situation resolved one way or another asap. Dougie could do the job til the end of the season with Stevie kember as his number 2. Bring this pointless saga to a close and lets focus on getting new blood in and progressing up the league!!

Austin is Number 2.
Kember is a Scout.

I know fella but kember has been in the management structure before and has more, you'd hope, insight into managing that Austin. No disrespect to Austin. Kembers raport with the players etc previously was apparently excellent as a coach.

Like calling one of your current players a waste of space???

Sorry lost me on this one? Who's he called a waste of space??

That's how he described Rubins.

When you said current players I thought you meant 'current' 2010 players. Speedy was apparently hopeless and lazy in training and again 'apparently' had a terrible attitude problem.

Rather unprofessional to say so in public, though, wouldn't you say?

To be honest yes it was.
