Oh dear, Japan surfaces yet again as an excuse on offer from those in denial. Automation can help, and will doubtless help more in time, but it cannot replace. Japan faces exactly the same problem we do, and is quietly turning to the same solution. Quietly because of the traditional resistance to migration there. We might be at different places on the journey, but we are on the same journey.

Government statements, Media manipulation, designed to confuse and scare the public into accepting further restrictions to their liberties. Perpetuate the fear, and eventually you will get conformity and control, Nobody wants conformity! What I, and I believe the vast majority want, is safety and security. If social media remains unchecked and unregulated then it becomes like the Wild West, where only the powerful survive. I want us to appoint a Sheriff and deputise some willing assistants to take down the bad guys. Restricting the freedoms of those the majority believe are acting in ways which don’t serve the overall best interest is what democracy is all about. Better control over misinformation and disinformation is coming and I, for one, think it’s long overdue. You have only to read Torba and Musk to realise that.

Two 12yo children have been charged with 'Violent Disorder', bailed for sentencing next month. Jeez, two tier kier really is going for it, hope he feels happy.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

We will get to learn more in the fullness of time. That there is no overarching organisation these days but rather a loose collaboration between like minded people that has tentacles that extend into many countries, seems true. That doesn’t mean they don’t exist or that they are any less dangerous. It proves what the power of social is these days., That the events in Southport was the excuse that was used to pull the trigger that set off the rioting is obvious. That the trigger was cocked and ready to be pulled when the opportunity was presented is just as obvious. At least to those with eyes that see and brains that think. Not though it seems to those determined to excuse the inexcusable. They remain boxed in by prejudice and intransigence.

So there it is folks....You call him out on his BS and all he has is: Nothing. Just a 'trust the state bro', 'I repeat whatever the state says bro'. Well, if the state actually had these influencers posting these messages then we would be hearing about it....They have already released the messages I provided in an earlier post. He's just a little modern day western version of the soviet commissar repeating misinformation...probably because in his case he loves the wind up. Oh and note how it ignores the main point of Japan's lack of immigration compared to its significantly higher GDP. The fact that it had no immigration after its country was flattened in WW2 yet recovered and overtook western countries begging for foreigners by the early 70s. The answer was never immigration and he totally ignores the considerable problems with the population ponzi scheme he advocates for. Edited by Stirlingsays (12 Aug 2024 2.06pm)

We are on the same journey; you got that bit right. But not the reasons we would agree on. Firstly Japan and Britain are in two different positions. Britain has been welcoming people for many years, Japan only recently. Japan as you say would have had a traditional resistance to immigration. The reason of changes to tradition etc. This you appear to appreciate. However I am suspicious of how many of those 800 thousand people will be skilled. When it was decided to bring in more people the Japanese people were powerless to stop it. Just like here. I suspect it is just their turn to feel the change. Britain and Japan can not be conflated totally though as I previously stated. Britain is not even using the pretence of a shortage of skilled workers anymore. This could be just lip service from the Japanese government.

If anyone thinks that what the security services have will be released to us, via the media, they are nuts. They have no wish to risk compromising their further investigations or prosecutions. It may never be fully released for fear of revealing sources or methods. That's no windup or state support. It's basic common sense—something often lacking in the words of the apologists for rioting. I don't want to see this issue diverted into another circular debate on the Japanese need for migration compared to our own. We are different countries, with very different histories, very different work ethics and are situated in entirely different geographical locations. Very few people outside of Japan speak Japanese, although it is now being taught in various parts of SE Asia in preparation for the anticipated demand. Japan faces the same problems as we do and both will use the same solutions. Just at different speeds and in different ways. What was, won't be, and is no guide to it. You were doing quite well. Until you reached your last paragraph and went right off the rails and into another conspiracy theory siding.

Not the so called far right thug. It's all very well appointing people to oversee "misinformation". The people to really fear are those who spread this kind of disinformation. Whatever their political beliefs are. BBC Verify is a very useful deep dive into misinformation and disinformation. I think it turns up some interesting information by checking claims and determining how much is true. Nothing ever stops anyone from providing information which verifies the original claims, even after they might have been debunked. That they don't and just quietly disappear speaks volumes to me.
