I even chose to live in Wisbech once but as soon as I retired couldn't get away from the boring Fens and it's people quickly enough. Too many closet fascists there for my liking. Don't talk to us about it. Get in contact with BLM about it.

I told you I didn't read every page and I gave you their mission statement. I also told you I had little sympathy for any organisation which, in my view, is likely to make things worse and not better by perpetuating the myth of "blackness" and "whiteness" being the issue. I prefer to concentrate on trying to eradicate attitudes, from wherever, that sustain that myth. The real issue is the deeply embedded racism. With what's happening, and the black white division now I'm becoming increasingly colour xenophobic if that's a thing. I know its foreigners in the dictionary but ffs I wouldn't think bad of a person or be horrible to them unless they are horrible to me. I dont give a s*** about their colour, it's their attitude towards me that counts.

Its interesting reading the posts back and forth about where you live... One of the things that came out of the inquiry into the Brixton riots in the 80s was a criticism that police officers policing Brixton all live in the counties and not in London.. I dont agree with that. If you want a better life and work hard for it and want to live outside London then good luck to you... We all surely as humans want to live in the best place possible to raise our kids etc.. I was born in Mitcham.. Im proud of it but didn't want to bring my kids up there.. I worked hard and saved and moved to Banstead in Surrey.. I shouldn't be made to feel guilty for that. I might live in middle class suburbia but I'm still a working class lad as well.
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

Born and bred in Thornton Heath, loved growing up there, but by the time we were ready to start a family I did not want my children growing up there, not a snobby/racist thing just considering my kids future. Was working at Gatwick so moved to Horsham, stretched us financially but very good schools, luckily we didn’t want a nightlife. Edited by Spiderman (14 Jun 2020 10.36am)

I have already answered that. Well, no you haven't. This originated in you answering Matov's post where he said: "BLM are horrendous. Their stated aims are simply beyond comprehension. Destroy the traditional family structure, abolish the Police and dismantle capitalism. All stated in plain sight. No nuance, no attempt to hide behind platitudes." You answered with: "I took a look, for the first time ever, at the "Black Lives Matter" website this evening. Thanks for giving me a reason to do that. Whilst I didn't read every page I saw nothing at all which suggests that their "stated aims" resemble your claim in the slightest." It was then pointed out to you that indeed BLM did clearly state what you maintain that they did not in the slightest. ""We’re guided by a commitment to dismantle imperialism, capitalism, white-supremacy, patriarchy and the state structures", You can at least admit that you were wrong in saying that BLM do not have the agenda that Matov highlighted. You should also have the guts to comment on their agenda and say which parts of it you support and which parts you oppose (if any). Edited by georgenorman (14 Jun 2020 10.38am)

People vote with their feet (if they can afford it). You know, similar to the way people tried to leave communist countries before walls and machine-gun posts stopped them. Edited by georgenorman (14 Jun 2020 10.47am)

Not according to the Cornish. They believe they are a race apart, with connections to other celts. Mind you there was a time when shipwrecked sailors, often with dark skins, influenced the gene pool, which can still be seen today. Don't let that stop you believing they are all "white" though, just because that is the option available on a census form! There is no evidence for that whatsoever. A lot of my genes are Cornish and there ain't no dark anything in them.

There may be a correlation between opportunities available to people, housing class and propensity towards criminality Not on my screen. Are you OK? I disagree. BLM, Antifa and the like thrive on racism. They only get excited when a Black person is killed by someone White, and if it is a copper then it is a real plus for them. They are radical opportunists with destruction on their minds. They want power, not equality. My main concern is how this is being used and indeed engineered by those in the shadows.
