This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle This post has been merged from a topic called 'Wilf Ban' by Midlands Eagle If it were me I would definitely appeal and put the whole disciplinary system on trial. I would bring in video of the earlier foul that went unpunished and a collection of situations where Zaha suffered uncalled fouls and/or bookings for simulation that turned out to be fouls on him (a certain incident at Watford comes to mind). I would also bring up the Burnley incident. Yes, his reaction was over the top and not smart but to double the suspension and add a 10K fine without at least acknowledging the context is the same as the FA washing their hands of an ever increasing problem with match officiating that is leading to the introduction of VAR. Discipline for incompetence must be seen to be done and not swept under the rug behind closed doors.

Lets not forget we have beat two teams without Wilf now... and some say around me at the Holmesdale, we are more of a balanced team?? Originally posted by PhuketEagle
This might work in our favour if Wilf's suspended for Doncaster as I think he got booked right near the end of the Spurs FA Cup game. As this season if you get 2 FA Cup bookings means you miss a game, it would mean Wilf would be available for the 6th rd if we get through.

I think he's accepted the charge and the start point is one game ban and a fine, I thought the start point for fines was £20k, Puncheon got £15k for his Warnock tweet and got 25% discount because he admitted the charge and had no previous. The Commission is independent of the FA and both parties have the right to appeal I think, he should take it in my view.

Wilf needs to grow up. He's a disgrace. This is the consequence of his choices to keep spitting the dummy. Him being side-lined and team being weakened. Now he's got himself in a vicious cycle where he's targeted by opposing teams to make him lose it, putting himself at further risk of injury. They do this to bait him because of his mental weakness. I personally would not want him in an England shirt with his present stubborn and unprofessional insistence that all referees and opposing players are out to get him. If he didn't keep reacting the way he does players would stop risking yellow and red cards trying to bait him, and refs would start doing their jobs better before his silly histrionics that infer they are stupid or blind or incompetent. I think you're safe on that count mate

As generally accepted he got himself sent off out of petulance and stupidity. He has therefore made himself unable to perform what he is employed for and that's play. Do the club still pay his wages, whilst he has made himself unavailable.

I think he should let it be.] I agree, it's just not the right time for it. Unfair or not he should take it on the chin and work on his own conduct instead of playing the blame game. Concentrate on three points against the scum instead.
