If I remember right, he was struggling to score for us, scored a hat trick for Belgium, then came back and started firing them in for us? My research has shown that in his first season for us, 2016/17 he scored 3 goals in 7 games (All competitions) before scoring a hat-trick for Belgium v Gibraltar in Oct 16.After that game he scored 14 goals for us in 33 games, in all competitions.

They're pretty s*** compared with say England but Gibraltar are about the same level as English non-league clubs. Their club team did get a surprise result against Celtic last year though.

My research only goes back to 2013 and from then until now, Gibraltar have not won a competitive game and suffered some heavy defeats along the way. They have had a couple of 1-0 wins in friendlies, against Malta and Latvia. Thought for a while that his head's gone and he doesn't think he's going to score himself. Cascarino said in the paper today that CB has the "yips" in front of goal but hasn't helped himself play through it by working hard for the team. Also that when he was hit by the same affliction as a player he needed a complete change of club / scenery to get over it.
The fuss about his workrate is massively overblown, he puts in a shift nearly every game. He'd had a great game up until that point against Bournemouth, and it was a chance for him to get that elusive goal and be a hero. Awful decision, but I can sort of see why he felt it was so important. Change of club/scenery may well be what he needs, but without many options to replace him that's where we are in trouble.
Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time. |

I don't like the other options much either although Wilf and Townsend did Ok as a forward pairing last season. Also think we look much weaker defending corners without him ridiculous as that feels. However, I don't think he puts himself about enough at times.
