That different cases are deemed different priorities can only be because the threat of imitation is determined to be different. If the priority is to deter violence you concentrate on that likely to produce violence. A lone councillor saying stupid things has probably been considered less of a threat than significant numbers of others actually rioting. The comparison should be with so called far right people inciting violence on social media, not actual rioters. The precedent has been set, we’ll see what charges are given.

They will and give thanks too, because without them many of those they are trying to get an appointment with wouldn’t be available. Think back to the appointments you have made with doctors and dentists over the last few years. How many of them were with people not born in the UK? How many on the waiting list did the same apply to?

Absolute bollocks. Yep, what does 'far right inspired' riots even mean? When you look at what actually happened most of the places experiencing riots were in economically deprived areas with high immigration. Most people didn't riot and of the people doing the rioting most weren't far right, as it was a mixture of people and the actual 'far right' weren't organising (which the PM put out into the media) nor were they suggesting people should be rioting. But the truth only matters to those interested in it. What we are getting instead are actual lies put out there by people talking out of their backside and looking to gaslight and scare people. Government statements, Media manipulation, designed to confuse and scare the public into accepting further restrictions to their liberties. Perpetuate the fear, and eventually you will get conformity and control,

What do you think such a comparison reveals? How many riots have resulted from the incitement on social media by right wing influencers? How many people have been killed or injured as the result of a stupid remark by a left wing councellor?

How many on the waiting list did the same apply to? Most I suspect. Those waiting lists would be much worse without the influx of international health care workers. Immigrants are, on average, younger and healthier than those born here. We are an aging population. Immigrants therefore consume less health care resource than they provide.

None of which matters, because there is no excuse for rioting. Ultimately the key targets are going to be those who inspired and encouraged it to happen. That could take a long time, even years, but they will be found, prosecuted and if found guilty, jailed. If they have a legitimate defence then they would be well advised to polish it well, because I think they will need a lot more than what the apologists are putting up. The evidence looks solid to me. Both of their culpability and of the self denial that exists in this thread.

The aging population argument is continually made despite it being easily proven a nonsense. It's been answered so many times, ok, once again the obvious ones is that automation increasingly negates the need for large populations and in terms of care you could do old/young care contracts as they do in Japan....Japan itself being an example of having a much older population break down than the UK but which hasn't done anything like the 'migrants welcome' insanity of western Europe. Oh and Japan has been performing above our GDP with that older population for decades and continues to....all without those migrant inflows. Even the 'guest worker' scheme they do now is limited to mostly Asians and a tiny fraction of immigration compared to somewhere like us. Edited by Stirlingsays (12 Aug 2024 1.22pm)

I am not aware of any international health care workers, or students, doing that! The problem with only looking at a tiny minority, whether that be those immigrants who commit crime, or those who hold hard right views, is they are completely unrepresentative of the whole picture. Any ostrich with its head buried in sand is going to have a limited field of vision!

These people need to be called out on their BS. This idea that anything other than multiple children being stabbed with three of them dying was the cause of riots and protests is a fiction spread by these people with political agendas. Sure, in amongst them were looters and hooligans looking for take advantage of the situation. No one sensible defends that. But 'Right wing' influencers causing riots? Prove it....reproduce these messages from 'right wing influencers, who have any kind of significant reach to bring out thousands of people inciting them to riot. Show us. Because I reproduced messages from people already jailed who no one has heard of! And there's no right wing organisation, let alone, 'far right' that they are connected to. Yet HNH put out a fake acid attack claim that a Muslim rioter is on film angrily referring to and nothing has been done. Edited by Stirlingsays (12 Aug 2024 1.23pm)
